Storm No. 10 passed through Quang Tri , leaving behind serious consequences with more than 3,400 houses damaged, roofs blown off, many structures destroyed, trees broken and blocking roads. The power system suffered great losses with thousands of broken and crooked electric poles, many broken lines, disrupting power supply over a large area.

In particular, Phu Trach commune is the most severely affected locality. Many households still do not have electricity for daily activities, forcing them to return to carrying stream water and doing laundry outdoors as they did decades ago. People expressed their hope that the electricity industry will soon fix the problem to stabilize their lives. Mr. Tran Van Hoang, a local resident, said: "The power outage has lasted for more than 3 days, leading to no clean water. My phone ran out of battery so I couldn't get any information. I had to go to the stream to bathe and do laundry."

Faced with widespread power outages, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) and Quang Tri Power Company mobilized all human resources and equipment. More than 200 engineers and workers from Hue, Da Nang , Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa and the Central Power Service Company were urgently dispatched.

Through counting, 33 lines from 110kV stations and 39 medium voltage segments were damaged. More than 2,300 transformer stations stopped working, 227,000 households lost power, equivalent to over 43% of the total number of households using electricity in Quang Tri province. As of noon on October 1, the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) had restored power to more than 97.6% of customers in Quang Tri province. Striving to have 100% of customers have power again by 8:00 p.m. the same day.
