Contemplating the blossoming, fading and rebirth in the paintings of artist Truong Kim

In artist Truong Kim's new exhibition, the lotus flower is not only a symbol of purity and peace, but also a support for her to convey her contemplations about life: blooming, fading, rebirth - an endless cycle.

The embossed oil painting exhibition "Colors of the Years" by artist Truong Kim will take place on the afternoon of October 1 at Maii Art Space (72/7 Tran Quoc Toan, Xuan Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

Each color and line is meticulously cared for by the female artist.

The combination of traditional materials with modern expression makes Truong Kim's paintings both close and accessible, while opening up depth of contemplation.

Cam Ranh - a land full of sunshine and the salty taste of the Central sea - is the inspiration for the "game" Colors that go with the years . Nearly 30 works (created in the period 2021 - 2025) show the artist's consistent creative journey inspired by lotus flowers, nature, Buddhism and profound spiritual values. In addition, the exhibition also introduces the artist's poetic everyday works, such as the image of a pair of cranes next to a peach branch, a trellis of orchids blooming in the blue night, or still lifes of lotus full of vitality.

The difference in the works of artist Truong Kim is the use of 3D embossed oil paint (using embossed powder that the author mixes together with oil color) on the surface of the painting. Instead of just stopping at the conventional flatness of painting, the female artist creates shapes like embossed reliefs, then covers them with many layers of color, making each painting a multi-dimensional space.

The female artist confided: "I came to painting through self-study, through natural vibrations before nature, Buddhism and life. Painting is a way for me to listen to my own heart, and also a path to find peace that people always strive for."

Come to Colors of the Years to explore the journey of fine arts in a meditative, gentle space - where viewers temporarily put aside the hustle and bustle of the streets, "converse" with the breath of colors, lines and the quiet depths of art.
