Construction of Thac Ngua bridge, Khanh Vinh commune. |
Provincial Road 8B plays a role in connecting traffic through the communes of Khanh Vinh, Tay Khanh Vinh, Trung Khanh Vinh and Bac Khanh Vinh. On the route, there are Thac Ngua, Song Giang and Song Cho spillways. In recent years, these bridges have been continuously damaged and seriously degraded. Therefore, the construction of 3 new bridges to replace them has received great consensus from the people and local authorities. Mr. Nguyen Thu Trung - Vice Chairman of Trung Khanh Vinh Commune People's Committee said: Previously, the old bridge was a spillway bridge, so people had many difficulties traveling, especially transporting goods back and forth in the rainy season. The project to build new bridges and replace 3 bridges on Provincial Road 8B has a total estimated construction value of more than 214 billion VND, from the provincial budget. It is expected that by the end of 2025, when the bridges are completed, they will create connections with other communes, especially creating convenience and safety for students going to school and people transporting agricultural products during the rainy season when passing through this route.
According to Mr. Tran Xuan Hoi - Construction Joint Stock Company 510, in recent days, although affected by rainy weather and floodwaters from upstream, the construction unit has proactively worked overtime, increased shifts, and accelerated construction progress. It is expected that this year, the construction of 3 new bridges will be basically completed. In the upcoming rainy season, the construction unit will coordinate with local authorities to arrange coordinators to guide people and vehicles to travel safely and smoothly.
In addition, in the Khe River basin in Khanh Vinh commune, in response to the urgent needs of the people, the locality has implemented the project to build an embankment to prevent landslides on the left bank of Khe River (from the bridge of Song Khe Provincial Road 2 to Hoang Quoc Viet bridge), with a total investment of more than 37.5 billion VND and the project to protect residential areas along Cau River in Khanh Vinh commune, with a total investment of 42 billion VND. Up to now, these projects have basically completed important items, in which the Khe River embankment is in the stage of completing the management road on the embankment.

Creating inter-regional connectivity
In the 2021 - 2025 period, from the capital source of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development for Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, the whole province has invested more than 2,000 billion VND in projects and programs, of which nearly 1,112 billion VND is invested in electricity, traffic, and school projects... Investment and development efforts in transport infrastructure have brought about many positive changes, creating regional and inter-regional connectivity. Up to now, 100% of communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the province have asphalted or concreted roads to the commune center; 100% of villages have paved roads to the center. Investment in essential infrastructure has made an important contribution to local socio-economic development. Up to now, the poverty rate in ethnic minority and mountainous areas has decreased by an average of 5% per year, now only 6,402 households.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son - Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, investing in roads serving production and life has fundamentally changed the appearance of rural areas in ethnic minority and mountainous areas; facilitating travel and transportation of goods, reducing costs for people, contributing to promoting sustainable economic growth. Implementing the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, localities need to identify infrastructure investment as one of the solutions for sustainable socio-economic development, thereby registering for investment, expanding and upgrading roads, building anti-erosion embankments along rivers and streams in the area to protect residential areas; improving the ability to prevent and combat natural disasters, and responding to floods. Thereby, contributing to the goal of poverty reduction and improving the quality of life for people.
