Special milestone of Cam Ranh Port

On the morning of October 20, Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company (Cam Linh Ward) held a ceremony to welcome the 3 millionth ton of cargo through Cam Ranh Port in 2025. This special milestone not only has significance in terms of output but also marks an important development milestone in the 34-year journey of building and developing the port. Attending the ceremony was comrade Nguyen Khac Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Remarkable growth

According to Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company, 2025 is a challenging but very proud year for Cam Ranh Port. With the spirit of "proactive, flexible, effective, safe, and developing", Cam Ranh Port has achieved a remarkable growth rate. As of September 30, the port welcomed 653 ships, including 16 foreign ships. Revenue in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 176 billion VND, up 36% over the same period last year; revenue is expected to maintain a growth rate of 36% by the end of the year compared to the same period in 2024. Cargo throughput through the port has so far reached 3 million tons, up 51% over the same period in 2024, exceeding the plan for the whole year of 2025. Expected output by the end of 2025 is 3.7 million tons, up 53% over the same period last year.

To achieve this result, since the end of April, the company has established a logistics trade service center to develop chain services, promote specialized transportation services from the mine to the port to increase revenue for the enterprise. Since the end of June, Cam Ranh Port has coordinated with Quy Nhon Port to provide services to customers from the mine to the foot of the project. At the same time, it has developed 30 new customers, with new output reaching more than 550,000 tons, contributing to the growth rate and diversification of the product structure. Production and exploitation activities are organized reasonably and scientifically ; wharves are always flexibly arranged, operating 24/24 hours. The company also improves labor safety and the environment; applies information technology, digital transformation, improves techniques, equipment; improves management, administration and documents... The number of ideas and improvements implemented is estimated to bring the company a profit of 4 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thang - General Director of Cam Ranh Port Joint Stock Company said that this is the first time Cam Ranh Port has reached the milestone of 3 million tons of cargo in a year. This milestone is the result of a combination of strategic actions such as: Arranging wharfs reasonably, maximizing equipment capacity, organizing production scientifically, following the process and ensuring absolute safety in production labor, focusing on investment, renovating internal road systems, applying technology in management. At the same time, connecting road and water transporters, consigning delivery... to provide a complete logistics solution from mines and factories through Cam Ranh Port to the foot of construction works of member ports, forming inter-port service chains.

Striving to reach 4 million tons by 2025

Currently, Cam Ranh Port is preparing to start the joint venture petroleum depot project with PV OIL, with an expected output of about 200,000 tons/year. This is a strategic project to help expand the energy logistics service sector, while also contributing positively to the budget of Khanh Hoa province. In the coming years, Cam Ranh Port will invest in key projects to improve the port's capacity. Specifically, Ba Ngoi wharf (wharf C1) will be invested to upgrade the capacity to receive ships from 30,000 DWT to 50,000 DWT; wharf No. 2 - Ba Ngoi port (wharf C2) will be invested to upgrade the capacity to receive ships from 50,000 DWT to 70,000 DWT. In phase 2, investment will be made in port No. 2 - Ba Ngoi port, extending to the East by 60m and investing in an additional bridge to facilitate traffic on the wharf; At the same time, invest in expanding 10.3 hectares of yard area and specialized warehouses.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Khac Toan emphasized that in 2024 and the first 9 months of 2025, despite the difficult domestic and international economic situation, Cam Ranh Port has made great efforts and achieved many results. This shows that Cam Ranh Port is gradually transforming strongly, becoming more modern and professional, contributing more and more to the development of Vietnam's maritime industry and the marine economy of Khanh Hoa province. In the context of the province implementing Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, towards the goal of becoming a strong marine economic center of the country by 2030, the role of seaports, including Cam Ranh Port, is extremely important. The Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee always identify the development of seaport infrastructure and logistics as one of the pillars of sustainable economic development, associated with the green - smart - effective orientation. Cam Ranh Port needs to continue to maintain its growth momentum, striving to complete the milestone of 4 million tons of cargo throughput in 2025, affirming its position as a key seaport in the South Central region. At the same time, it will continue to invest in depth, expand infrastructure, warehouses, equipment, improve loading and unloading productivity and service quality; promote digital transformation, build e-ports, green ports, smart ports, towards a modern, transparent and sustainable governance model. The Provincial People's Committee pledges to continue to accompany, support, and remove difficulties in investment procedures, land, and connecting traffic infrastructure so that Cam Ranh Port can develop smoothly, worthy of being an important growth pole in the province's marine economic strategy.
