On November 22, a clip recording a house on Ngo Thi Nham Street (Pham Dinh Ho Ward, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi ) on fire was spread on social media. At the time of the fire, the house was locked. The raging fire engulfed the first floor of the house, causing panic among the people around.

At this time, a group of young men saw what was happening and ran to break the lock and used a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, preventing it from spreading.

The group of young men broke down the door and put out the fire in just 49 seconds. The online community has been praising their decisive and brave actions and calling them "heroes".

Responding to VTC News, Ms. Nguyen Minh Huong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Pham Dinh Ho Ward (Hai Ba Trung District) said that the fire broke out from a house that specializes in selling materials for motorbikes and cars. Upon discovering the incident, 3 residents joined the local fire fighting force to put out the fire.

These three people include: Mr. Hoang Tuan Anh (born in 1989, in Cau Giay, Hanoi); Mr. Tran Ngoc Hai (born in 1995, in Hoang Mai, Hanoi) and Mr. Dang Van Dong (born in 1999, in Doan Hung, Phu Tho ).

"Three people working at the beer house, along with police officers, the ward's security and order protection team and the urban team, handled the incident. We are proposing to reward them," said Chairman of the Ward People's Committee Pham Dinh Ho.

Nearly a day after the incident, Mr. Dang Van Dong recounted that at around 10 p.m. on November 21, he discovered a burning smell and smoke coming from the house on Ngo Thi Nham Street. The house is located opposite the beer house where he works.

A few minutes later, the fire spread rapidly on the first floor of the house where there were many flammable materials. At that time, many people gathered, shouting to put out the fire. There was no one inside the house, but the door was locked, making it difficult for them to approach and put out the fire. The risk of the fire spreading was very high.

"Hearing the screams, I quickly ran over, used a crowbar to break the lock, and broke the door," Dong recounted. When the lock popped out, they pulled the iron door. At the same time, Dong's colleagues, Hoang Tuan Anh and Tran Ngoc Hai, took two fire extinguishers available in the beer house. They sprayed them directly at the location where the fire broke out.

Less than a minute later, the fire was extinguished. As authorities arrived to deal with the remaining debris and investigate the cause of the incident, the three men returned to their work.

In their minds, they were glad that there was no one inside the house and no one was injured or killed. This morning, the owner went to the beer shop to thank Mr. Tuan Anh, Mr. Hai and Dong. The beer shop also rewarded the 3 people who broke the door and used fire extinguishers to stop the fire.

The commander of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team (Hai Ba Trung District Police) said the fire broke out at 9:44 p.m. on November 21 at house number 84 Ngo Thi Nham, Pham Dinh Ho Ward. The fire site is 3 stories high and about 30 square meters wide. Upon receiving the report, the unit dispatched 2 fire trucks to the scene to handle the incident.

Local residents and local forces had the fire under control by the time police arrived at the scene. The fire caused no casualties. The cause of the incident was determined to be an electrical short circuit.
