Over the past nearly two decades since the establishment of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day (October 13), the group of entrepreneurs has continuously grown, becoming the core force in economic development, expanding integration and affirming the country's position in the international arena. Not only leading businesses through storms, Vietnamese entrepreneurs also carry on their shoulders the mission of building trust, promoting innovation and spreading the spirit of serving society.

Vietnamese Enterprises: From Internal Strength to Integration Locomotive

Vietnam is currently home to hundreds of thousands of operating businesses. Among them, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) account for an overwhelming proportion, contributing significantly to job creation, the formation and development of local production and distribution chains. In recent years, we have witnessed many start-up businesses transforming strongly, proactively digitizing sales processes, actively accessing new sources of capital and constantly opening export doors to the world .

Enterprises apply advanced technology in production

Vietnamese enterprises are asserting their role as pillars of the economy by contributing more than 60% of GDP and creating tens of millions of jobs. Despite the uncertain global economic context, the domestic business sector still maintains production and seeks new markets. Mr. To Hoai Nam - Permanent Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Small and Medium Enterprises emphasized: "The most valuable thing about Vietnamese enterprises is their inner vitality. Regardless of their scale, they are learning to adapt quickly and grow with internal strength."

Sharing emotionally, Mr. Nam emphasized that, towards Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day, the story of the Vietnamese business community over the past year is not only limited to profit figures or signed contracts. It is a journey with many changes but also with many opportunities, where each entrepreneur and each business must persevere in innovation, accept social responsibility and constantly seek sustainable advantages to increase the competitiveness of Vietnamese brands globally.

However, behind the impressive growth figures is fierce competitive pressure, demanding high management capacity, transparency in operations and the ability to comply with increasingly strict international standards. The key issue now is no longer just the scale of the enterprise, but the ability to adapt - the ability to quickly digitize, effectively control risks in the global supply chain, and especially build a sustainable, valuable brand. "The Government 's policy of reforming administrative procedures, improving access to capital and promoting digital infrastructure development has created a larger space for businesses to develop. However, the real effectiveness of these policies still depends a lot on the flexible strategy and internal organizational capacity of each enterprise," Mr. Nam added.

Entrepreneurs: Dare to change, dare to take social responsibility

In the current context, the role of entrepreneurs has gone beyond that of a mere executive. They are also leaders of corporate culture, inspire creativity and strongly demonstrate social responsibility. Many business owners have boldly innovated production models, applied green production models, reduced energy consumption and shifted to building sustainable supply chains to promptly respond to the world's modern consumption trends.

Many businesses are transforming rapidly.

From management innovation to social responsibility, Vietnamese entrepreneurs are playing a dual role: being both a growth driver and a change creator. The important lesson is to strengthen internal strength and expand strategic vision, to go hand in hand with the digital and green economic trends. This is the path to bring Vietnamese brands to the forefront and contribute to the aspiration of a strong Vietnam.

In reality, many entrepreneurs not only focus on profits but also take the lead in practicing community service, protecting the environment, and linking business development with sustainable development. "Many young entrepreneurs pursue a "dual" strategy: developing business, protecting the environment and accompanying the community," affirmed Mr. Mac Quoc Anh - Vice President and General Secretary of the Hanoi Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (Hanoisme).

Sharing specifically about this story, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) - Mr. Truong Van Cam said that a number of textile and garment enterprises have invested in wastewater recycling technology and green materials to meet the strict requirements of the EU and US markets. In addition, in the agricultural sector, many entrepreneurs have switched to organic farming, applying electronic traceability to enhance reputation and increase export value...

According to Hanoisme representative, the connecting role of associations is extremely important. When associations work closely with the government and the business community, a strong support network will be formed, helping businesses improve production standards, access potential markets and overcome competitive challenges. This is also the foundation for forming an "entrepreneur ecosystem" - where each individual not only strives for their own success, but also contributes to the overall development of the economy and the social community.

Need for policy leverage and integration capacity

According to economic experts, Vietnamese enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, are facing many challenges such as difficulty in accessing credit capital, shortage of digital human resources, high standardization costs and pressure to comply with increasingly strict international regulations. These barriers prevent many enterprises, despite their potential, from going far. To overcome these barriers, practical policies are needed instead of "general ones", Dr. To Hoai Nam emphasized: "Policies must be designed based on actual needs, not only to overcome immediate difficulties but also to create long-term development momentum". He recommended that the State implement specific credit packages, systematic digital transformation support programs and shared digital infrastructure platforms to reduce the burden on small businesses.

The most important lesson is to consolidate the internal foundation, while expanding the strategic vision to catch up with the new development trends of the world. As shared by many economic researchers, "the coming period is the period when Vietnamese entrepreneurs must both maintain national character and deeply integrate with the digital economy and green economy". This is the path for Vietnamese enterprises to create long-term, sustainable values, contributing to realizing the aspiration of a strong Vietnam.

From a practical perspective, Mr. Than Duc Viet - General Director of May 10 Corporation said: "We are strongly shifting to a green production model and an environmentally friendly supply process, but the investment costs are very high. Enterprises hope that the State will have a credit policy linked to export contracts, instead of relying only on mortgaged assets, to promptly take advantage of opportunities from international markets." Sharing the same view, some seafood enterprises also proposed that banks need to be more flexible in approving capital, because if credit is directly linked to orders, enterprises will be more proactive and reduce financial costs.

Enterprises aim to change technology to meet the needs of production and environmental protection.

From an industry perspective, Mr. Vu Duc Giang - Chairman of VITAS emphasized that businesses need more support from associations and management agencies: "Associations not only convey recommendations, but also directly support training, connect markets, help small businesses improve production standards and participate more deeply in the global supply chain."

Along with capital and market, brand stories are increasingly becoming a launching pad. Dr. Mac Quoc Anh said: "A brand is not just a logo, but a story about quality and responsibility. We must tell that story more professionally in the international arena." This is also the foundation for Vietnamese goods to affirm their position, in line with the trend of sustainable development.

In the context of deep integration, policies can only be truly effective when combined with the innovation spirit and aspirations of businesses. Leverage from the State and internal efforts from the business community, if harmoniously connected, will become a dual driving force to help the Vietnamese economy create a future on the foundation of global integration./.
