According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Quang Quyen, in the process of preparing for the dialogue conference, the city's functional agencies received, synthesized, and screened more than 50 opinions and recommendations from 59 enterprises, cooperatives, and production entities, focusing on 3 groups of issues: Planning, infrastructure, tourism and craft village environment; mechanisms and policies to support craft villages; science and technology, trade promotion, branding, and raw material regional linkages.
At the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Luong, representative of Hien Luong Bamboo and Rattan Export Company Limited (Phu Tuc Commune, Phu Xuyen District) expressed her wish that the city would remove difficulties, especially in terms of production premises; support trade promotion abroad, especially the Hong Kong market (China); and create conditions to access preferential loans.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of Phu Thanh Phat Company Limited (Van Tu Commune, Phu Xuyen District) raised the issue that the current labor force in craft villages is mainly elderly people, farmers, production is "father-to-son" in nature, and has not been properly trained.
“I propose that the city support vocational training programs to improve techniques and skills, and encourage people to participate in learning, production, and traditional handicrafts,” Mr. Thanh said.
