Reporting at the meeting, Mr. Hoang Manh Ha, Editor-in-Chief of TN&MT Newspaper, said that in the first 8 months of 2024, TN&MT Newspaper has always received close and timely attention and direction from the Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment ; effective coordination and support from agencies and units inside and outside the Ministry, and from the Departments of Natural Resources and Environment of provinces and centrally-run cities.
In particular, the Editorial Board of the Newspaper is always innovative, dynamic, creative and proactive in its direction and management, promptly adjusting and supplementing management regulations and rules in accordance with the functions, tasks and characteristics of the journalism profession. Management and operation according to regulations and rules have contributed to bringing the agency's activities into order and efficiency.
According to the Editor-in-Chief of TN&MT Newspaper, in addition to the achieved results, the Newspaper still has some limitations and difficulties due to limited and unstable revenue from ministries and departments outside the Ministry of TN&MT , affecting the unit's operational plans; other revenue sources such as advertising/communication sources... have been deeply cut due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic; meanwhile, starting from July 1, 2024, the minimum basic salary has been increased to VND 2,340,000/person/month. "This is a difficulty and also a challenge for an autonomous agency and unit like TN&MT Newspaper", Mr. Hoang Manh Ha shared.
In addition, the material facilities invested by TN&MT Newspaper up to now have mostly been depreciated and some assets have been liquidated, the remaining assets for use are old and very outdated with the development trend of modern press and media...
Regarding the tasks in the coming time, Editor-in-Chief of TN&MT Newspaper Hoang Manh Ha said that he will focus on political and ideological work for VCNLD, strictly implement the directives of superiors; focus on strengthening direction, management, and correcting limitations and shortcomings in press activities.
At the same time, direct affiliated organizations to develop thematic lines, assign implementation to specialized groups by field, improve the quality of content and form of publications, ensure continuous updates of information with high topicality, publish in accordance with the principles and purposes. Especially, information and propaganda on the implementation of the 2024 Land Law, the 2023 Water Resources Law, the draft Law on Geology and Minerals, the 2020 Law on Environmental Protection; strengthen external information on the field of natural resources and environment, response to climate change as well as positive aspects of social life...
Mr. Dao Xuan Hung, Editor-in-Chief of the Natural Resources and Environment Magazine, said that in the last months of 2024, the Magazine will continue to closely follow the Ministry's policies and plans, focusing on publishing printed issues of the Magazine, updating and disseminating information on the electronic Magazine and specialized publications. Focus on directing the ordering of articles from reputable experts, scientists and scholars, ensuring the volume and quality of news/articles/photos and videos according to the tasks and ordering plan for 2024 of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
In addition, in order to improve the quality of the content and form of the Journal, the Editorial Board directs the departments of the Journal to develop publishing plans for each year, quarter, month and each issue of the Journal. At the meeting, representatives of the leaders of the Ministry's functional Departments and Offices shared the difficulties and highly appreciated the achievements of the Ministry's three communication units, and affirmed that they will strengthen coordination and propose many solutions on finance, human resources, science and technology, digital transformation, international cooperation, etc. so that the units can better perform the policy communication tasks of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in the last months of 2024.
Speaking at the working session, Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan said that communication is an extremely important task in State management to create consensus and recognition from the Party, State and public opinion on the policies of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
On behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan acknowledged and commended the achievements of the three communication units of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. The Deputy Minister assessed that, as financially autonomous units, in the face of difficulties and challenges, the units have made efforts, overcome difficulties, and successfully completed the policy communication tasks of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan said that the Ministry's media agencies must "go ahead, go along and go behind" in building, perfecting and implementing policies of the natural resources and environment sector. Therefore, the units under the Ministry need to pay attention, support and create the best conditions in terms of facilities, equipment and funding for the media agencies under the Ministry to develop, meet the requirements of propagating policies and guidelines, on aspects that have been done and done well, and at the same time detect, evaluate and advise on aspects that have not been completed, in order to continue to do better in the assigned political tasks.
Deputy Minister Le Minh Ngan basically agreed with the proposals of the units at the meeting. The Deputy Minister suggested that in the coming time, media units need to strengthen close coordination with units inside and outside the Ministry to do better communication work in 2024 and the following years.
