Ho Chi Minh Sea Trail is ranked as a special national monument.

(CLO) The four localities that were granted the Certificate of National Special Monument "Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea" are Hai Phong, Phu Yen , Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ca Mau.

The Prime Minister has just signed the Certificate of ranking the "Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea" as a special national relic for the locality with the departure port (Hai Phong City) and the provinces with wharfs, including: Phu Yen, Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ca Mau.

“Ho Chi Minh Trail on the Sea” is the name of the military transport route in the resistance war against the US, secretly implemented by the Vietnam People’s Navy and the Liberation Army of South Vietnam in the East Sea during the war, to transport weapons and cadres from the North to support the Liberation Army of South Vietnam. This was an important, strategic factor, contributing to bringing the great resistance war of our nation to complete victory.

The “Ho Chi Minh Trail on the Sea” has become a historical miracle - a living legend of the determination, courage, intelligence and creativity of the Vietnamese people in the confrontation with the invading American imperialists. That is reflected in the organization and staffing of the “Train without a number”.

During 14 years (1961 - 1975), officers and soldiers of the "Unnumbered Train" overcame all difficulties, hardships, and sacrifices, overcame strict control, blockades, and fierce attacks by the enemy, organized hundreds of ships to set sail and reach their destination; hundreds of tons of weapons, ammunition, technical equipment, military equipment, goods, and medicine; hundreds of thousands of officers and soldiers from the large rear were sent to the front line, promptly responding to the human and material needs of the Southern battlefield.

Each trip is a tense, fierce battle of wits with the enemy, with nature, with waves and wind, with all difficulties and challenges, ready to sacrifice their lives, ready to detonate the pre-arranged explosives to destroy the ship, destroy the cargo, protect the secret of the road, the ship and the wharf... Many outstanding sons of the Fatherland have heroically sacrificed themselves to stay on the sea route, transforming into water waves.

The strategic transport route "Ho Chi Minh Trail at sea" together with the army and people of the whole country defeated the strategies of "Special War", "Local War", "Vietnamization of the War" of the US imperialists and made the victory of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign, completely liberating the South and unifying the country.
