Program of the International Forum “Expanding Digital Investment: Connecting Europe's Technological Advantage with Vietnam's Digital Future”.
The forum is expected to attract about 300 delegates, including small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporations from Vietnam and Europe, along with associations, chambers of commerce, institutes and schools, innovation centers, financial institutions and investors.
The Forum takes place in the context of the digital revolution and artificial intelligence (AI) that is shaping the future of global development, competition and security. International cooperation is seen as an inevitable path to ensuring a trustworthy digital space and Vietnam is emerging as a dynamic and potential partner of Europe.
With a vision to become one of the top 30 digital countries by 2030, Vietnam prioritizes strategic areas such as AI, semiconductors, 5G/6G, cloud computing and cybersecurity.
The forum aims at three main objectives:
Create a space for cooperation : Help businesses of both sides find cooperation opportunities, promote B2B (Business to Business) and B2G (Business to Government ) connections.
Discussion on the Global Gateway initiative : Discuss the role of the Global Gateway - the EU's strategic initiative to mobilize funding for sustainable digital infrastructure through instruments such as the Digital Investment Facility (DIF) and EFSD+.
Strengthening the “European Technology - Business Solution Package” : Strengthening the presence of this solution package in the Vietnamese market. This package includes the simultaneous mobilization of technology, experts, knowledge and capital from Europe, along with activities to support training and capacity building.
The forum will hold dialogues on a series of key issues, bringing together big names in the technology field such asFPT , Viettel, Bosch Global Software Technologies, CT Group, Ericsson, ASN, Nokia Bell Labs, VNPT, Inno3/OpenLaw, Kineis, Vegastar, as well as experts from the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and AVSE Global.
Key discussion sessions include:
The plenary session will focus on “Data sovereignty and technology in the era of cloud and AI”. Speakers will analyze the risks of supplier dependence without ensuring sovereignty, and find ways to strengthen critical digital infrastructure and develop a trusted cloud computing platform.
Semiconductor Session : Focus on EU-Vietnam cooperation to strengthen supply chains and move up the global value chain. Vietnam has set an ambitious target of building its first semiconductor factory by 2030 with a capital of about VND 12.8 trillion (USD 500 million), while training 50,000 semiconductor engineers and 5,000 AI experts.
5G/6G and submarine cable connection session : Experts will discuss the direction for Vietnam's ambition to build at least 10 new cable lines by 2030, bringing the total to at least 15 lines with a capacity of 350 Tbps - 10 times higher than the current number, of which at least two lines are owned by Vietnam.
Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Session : Emphasizes the importance of open technology and open source. DPI, which is made up of digital identity, payments and data exchange, is considered the foundation for all digital services. This session will discuss the new role of the State as an “architect” of the digital market, promoting interoperability and creating an environment for small and medium-sized enterprises to innovate.
Space Technology & AI Session : Opening up the prospect of combining Earth Observation data from satellites with AI, to improve disaster risk management, smart urban planning, climate-resilient agricultural development, and building digital twins for energy, transportation, and construction infrastructure.
Business Digitalization Session : Discussing the “dual transformation” (green - digital), a key orientation in the European Green Deal and the EU International Digital Strategy. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese SMEs to learn from European experiences in reducing emissions, optimizing costs and expanding markets.
