Notably, Capella Hanoi is described by Michelin as “a hotel that fully recreates the spirit of opera art through its sophisticated design, helping visitors immerse themselves in the unique cultural life of the capital Hanoi ”. This is also the only hotel in Vietnam with three restaurants honored by Michelin Guide 2025, notably Hibana by Koki - a restaurant that has maintained 1 prestigious Michelin star for three consecutive years.
Michelin described Vietnam’s appearance in the Michelin Key 2025 system as “an impressive debut”, demonstrating the increasingly prominent position of Vietnamese tourism in the global luxury resort segment. This not only shows that the quality of services and accommodation infrastructure in the country has reached international standards, but also affirms Vietnam’s competitiveness with leading tourist destinations in the region.
Known as the “Michelin star of the hotel industry”, Michelin Key is the world’s most prestigious accommodation quality rating system. Currently, Michelin Guide has selected more than 7,000 hotels in more than 125 countries, classified into three levels: One Key for an exceptional stay experience, Two Key for a great experience, and Three Key - the highest level, for an excellent experience.
Hotels awarded the Michelin Key must meet five strict global criteria: the ability to help guests discover the destination; outstanding interior design and architecture; service quality, comfort and maintenance excellence; the balance between the quality of the experience and the price; and a unique identity that reflects authenticity and personality. This set of criteria goes beyond amenities to a comprehensive stay experience, contributing to shaping a new international standard for the hotel industry.
Vietnam's official appearance in the Michelin Key 2025 list is an important milestone, opening up opportunities to promote the national image, while affirming that the quality of domestic accommodation and tourism services is approaching world-class standards.
