'Technology from the Heart' Award: Where love, passion and aspiration are sown

2025 is the second consecutive year that Vietnam News Agency has coordinated with Viettel to organize the award to convey a meaningful message about the humanistic values ​​that technology brings to life.

On the afternoon of October 23, the second "Technology with heart" photo/ video award ceremony took place at the National News Center (Hanoi).

The event, jointly organized by Vietnam News Agency and the Military Industry-Telecoms Group ( Viettel ), honored 32 photo and video works that closely followed the theme of this year's season, "Vietnamese Creativity - The Road to Prosperity."

Photos that 'touch' the heart

Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency, Chairwoman of the Award Council, said that the theme of this year's award season "Vietnamese Creativity - Road to Prosperity" is the message that the Organizing Committee wants to send to the public, affirming the strength of creating and developing the country on the basis of intelligence, innovation and creativity.

In the digital age, technological achievements not only make life more convenient and transparent, but are also the driving force to bring our country forward on the path of sustainable development and prosperity. This is also the spirit of the draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress that are being widely consulted among the people, and is also the core of Resolution 57 of the Politburo and the strategic directions of the Party and State in recent times.

According to General Director Vu Viet Trang, Vietnam News Agency, with its responsibility as a national news agency and a key press agency, always accompanies the country's development.

In the journey to fulfill that mission, to bring information closer to the public, to reflect the country's achievements most truthfully and vividly, especially in the field of science and technology, Vietnam News Agency needs new perspectives, stories told through images that touch the emotions of viewers.

Therefore, Vietnam News Agency and Viettel Group, a pioneer in creating and applying digital technology, have shared that awareness and value and continue to coordinate to organize the second season of the "Technology from the Heart" Award.

Commenting on the award-winning works, General Director Vu Viet Trang said that there are works that depict the passion for learning and exploring technology of students, the future generation of the country. There are works that record the moments when people master technology, turn creative ideas into reality, serve the work of natural disaster prevention, and contribute to solving social problems. There are works that praise the meaningful connection that technology brings to the disabled and disadvantaged; helping to change the lives of people in the highlands...

“More importantly, all the works touch the heart - where love, passion and aspiration are sown and nurtured by achievements of science and technology; arousing pride in technological achievements bearing the Vietnamese brand,” said journalist Vu Viet Trang.

Honoring 32 outstanding works

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2nd “Technology with Heart” Award received 1,131 single photo works, 229 photo series works and 122 video works. Through the judging rounds, the Jury selected 32 outstanding works to award prizes including: 11 prizes in the Photo Series category (1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 5 Consolation prizes); 10 prizes in the Single Photo category (1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 4 Consolation prizes); 11 prizes in the Video category (1 First prize, 2 Second prizes, 3 Third prizes and 5 Consolation prizes).

First prize in the single photo category went to author Bui Van Van (Ho Chi Minh City) with the work: "The joy of getting acquainted with robots." The photo series "Robots working as AI staff serving public administration in Hanoi" by authors Nguyen Phu Khanh and Tran Thanh Giang (Hanoi) won first prize in the photo series category. Authors Luc Huong Thu and Nguyen Tuan Khoi (Lao Cai) with the work "Lao Cai students research and develop an emergency warning system for natural disasters" won first prize in the video clip category.

Commenting on the award-winning works, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Dong, President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, said that the works adhered to the rules and highly appreciated the diversity and breadth of the Award categories.

Specifically, it is the diversity in honoring the subjects in operating and enjoying technology: From children to the elderly, workers in many fields, religious believers, vulnerable groups such as ethnic minorities, people with disabilities...

The President of the Association of Photographic Artists also appreciated the authors and groups of authors, including many professional and amateur photographers, who have fully and promptly captured precious moments and emotions, showing the value and important role of technology in life, helping them change their lives for the better.

Chairman of the Jury Council, journalist Nguyen Thang - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Pictorial Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) affirmed that the Technology from the Heart Award is a photo and video contest with a rather difficult theme, especially for the photo contestants.

“The winning works this time are certainly more outstanding than last time, because the authors have learned from the previous contest in discovering the theme, expressing the theme and sticking more closely to the contest criteria,” said photographer and journalist Nguyen Thang.

Technology connects love

Receiving First Prize in the video category for the work "Lao Cai students research and develop an emergency warning system for natural disasters," author Luc Huong Thu (Lao Cai) expressed her honor and pride.

Journalist Luc Huong Thu shared that from the story of three teachers and students of Lao Cai High School for the Gifted researching the emergency warning system for natural disasters after the flash flood caused by storm No. 3 (Yagi) in 2024, she saw the power of knowledge, technology and human values ​​in protecting the community from natural disasters and storms. The work not only honors the creative spirit of youth but also demonstrates the social responsibility of journalists in the digital age.

For journalist Luc Huong Thu, technology does not take away the humanity of the profession but also helps reporters understand, connect and spread love more strongly.

For author Nguyen Phu Khanh (Capital Security Special Issue), who won First Prize in the Photo Series category, the journey to create the work "Robot as AI employee serving public administration in Hanoi" was an emotional experience.

From July 10, 2025, AI robots officially operate in Cua Nam ward, central Hanoi with 6 functional groups: Service consulting and automatic queue number issuance; collecting and sending online feedback; providing integrated electronic information boards; automatic movement, serving water and candy in the waiting area; AI conversational communication; on-site consulting and support.

This “special employee” helps administrative procedures become more friendly, transparent and humane. Journalist Nguyen Phu Khanh shared that what moved him most were the satisfied smiles of people, from young people to the elderly. For him, technology is a means to serve people better. The “Technology from the Heart” award therefore not only honors creativity but also arouses the desire to make society more civilized, honest and happier.

The first prize in the Single Photo category went to the work “The joy of getting acquainted with robots” by author Bui Van Van (Ho Chi Minh City). He expressed his pride and surprise at winning such a high achievement in an award with a rather difficult theme for the photography world. The author highly appreciated the quality and prestige of the award and hoped that the message “Technology from the heart” would spread more and more./.

Immediately after the Award Ceremony, the Exhibition of 63 most outstanding works was opened at Tao Dan Flower Garden (opposite the National News Center, Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi). This activity will last from October 23 to 26, 2025.

At 9am on October 24, Viettel will bring the mini game “Technology from the heart” with unique interactions for young people who love technology. 100 Viettel gifts will be given to the earliest participants and 2 special prizes including Airpods 4 and Photo Book “A80: Fatherland in the heart” will be awarded to the most impressive check-in photos and videos.
