Hanoi proposes to subsidize meritorious people and their relatives with nearly 1.4 million VND/month

The Hanoi People's Committee is seeking comments on a draft resolution of the City People's Council promulgating regulations on special support policies for people with meritorious services to the revolution and their relatives who are receiving monthly allowances from Hanoi City.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh visited and presented gifts to war invalids and meritorious people at the Hanoi Center for Nurturing and Caring for Meritorious People.

The subjects of application are people with meritorious services and their relatives who are receiving monthly allowances from Hanoi City according to the provisions of the Ordinance on preferential treatment for people with meritorious services to the revolution, including: People who participated in revolutionary activities before January 1, 1945; People who participated in revolutionary activities from January 1, 1945 to the August 1945 uprising; Vietnamese heroic mothers; Heroes of the People's Armed Forces.

Labor Heroes during the resistance war period; War invalids, including type B war invalids recognized before December 31, 1993, people enjoying policies like war invalids; Sick soldiers; Resistance fighters infected with toxic chemicals.

People who participated in revolution, resistance, national defense, and international duty and were imprisoned or exiled by the enemy; People who contributed to the revolution; Relatives of people who contributed to the revolution, including biological father, biological mother, wife or husband, children (biological or adopted children), and people who contributed to raising martyrs who are receiving monthly preferential death benefits.

The level of support for meritorious people and their relatives who are receiving monthly preferential allowances for meritorious people is 0.5 times the standard allowance level for meritorious people according to the Government 's Decree regulating the levels of allowances, subsidies and preferential regimes for meritorious people.

According to Decree 77 dated July 1, 2024 of the Government, the standard level of preferential allowance for people with revolutionary contributions is 2,789 million VND.

With the proposal of Hanoi City on the subsidy support level of 0.5 times the standard level for meritorious people and their relatives, if the Hanoi City People's Council votes to pass the draft Resolution, then meritorious people and their relatives will receive monthly support of 1,394 million VND/month from the city.

The support level will change when the regulations on the standard level of subsidies for meritorious people change. If approved by the City People's Council, this resolution is expected to take effect from January 1, 2025.
