On September 4, the Ministry of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee to organize the Export Forum and International Supply Chain Connection Exhibition - Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 (VIS 2025). This is the third year the event has been held, with a scale one and a half times larger than last year.
VIS 2025 recorded the participation of more than 400 Vietnamese enterprises, displaying 12,000 products. The participating and displayed industries were quite diverse, from agricultural products, processed foods, beverages, textiles, footwear, wooden products, furniture, packaging...
Meanwhile, international purchasing delegations not only come from traditional markets such as the US, EU, Japan, Korea, Europe, but also expand to many potential regions including the Middle East, Latin America... Notably, the new point of this year's event is that 60 Vietnamese Trade Offices abroad also participate in connecting and supporting businesses to find sustainable output.
According to records, on the first day, the program was quite bustling with promotional events, many businesses looking for cooperation and investment opportunities.
The organizers said that the event will not only stop at exhibitions and connections in the hall, but also include a variety of specialized seminars, forums, and activities to localities. Typically, on September 6, 150 international business delegations will come to Tay Ninh province to visit, learn about the investment environment, and connect.
According to many experts, in the context of fluctuating global trade and rapid changes in consumer behavior, the event is considered a great opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the production network and global value supply chain.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, businesses proactively learned about the products displayed at the program.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that Vietnam's import-export turnover in 2024 will reach more than 786 billion USD, of which exports will reach 405 billion USD, an increase of 14.3%. In 2025, in just the first 7 months of the year, the total turnover will reach nearly 515 billion USD, an increase of 16.3% over the same period.
"The three-day networking event is not only a meeting place, but also the beginning of long-term cooperation, bringing Vietnamese businesses deeper into the global supply chain.
The import-export growth target of 12% this year is feasible if we take advantage of opportunities from connection forums such as VIS 2025," Ms. Thang emphasized.
According to the leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, within the framework of the event, a series of conferences and seminars were held, creating two-way interaction. This is an opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to update market trends and grasp new regulations on import and export. In return, international buyers learn about Vietnam's production capacity, development orientation and supply capacity.
Domestic and foreign enterprises proactively seek cooperation opportunities.
