More than 30 officials and civil servants in Binh Thuan violated alcohol concentration

On the afternoon of February 28, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department coordinated with the Department of Information and Communications of Binh Thuan province to organize a regular press conference for February.

At the Conference, Colonel Huynh Ngoc Liem, Deputy Director of Binh Thuan Provincial Police, said that from December 15, 2023 to now, the Provincial Police force has concentrated all its forces, synchronously deployed professional measures, and investigated and clarified 113 cases of crimes against social order.

Of which, the police have clarified 18 very serious crimes, arrested 271 gamblers and 178 drug offenders, handled 134 economic smuggling offenders, and 86 environmental offenders. From December 15, 2023 to now, the police of units and localities have arrested and handled 81 cases with 98 violators, confiscating nearly 1.3 tons of various types of firecrackers.

Regarding the work of ensuring traffic order and safety, Colonel Huynh Ngoc Liem said that up to now, there have been more than 30 cases of cadres, civil servants, police and military officers violating alcohol concentration. All of these cases have been notified by the Binh Thuan Provincial Police to their workplaces, including retired cadres who have been notified of their residence and Party activities to conduct self-criticism. The results of the self-criticism are sent to the Binh Thuan Provincial Police for updating and reporting to the Ministry of Public Security .

"The direction and handling of alcohol concentration violations in Binh Thuan is very strict. The implementation is in accordance with regulations and is strict. From this result, there has been a change, awareness and public opinion is very good and positive in society. Recently, the number of violations by officials and civil servants has decreased sharply, no more cases have been detected," said Colonel Huynh Ngoc Liem.

From January 11 to February 26, Binh Thuan traffic police organized 1,961 patrols, mobilized 10,855 officers, recorded 10,019 cases, fined more than 26 billion VND, revoked 1,853 driving licenses, and detained 3,589 vehicles of all kinds.
