At the opening session of the 1st Congress of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, which took place on the morning of October 1, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tam - Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee - announced the decision of the Politburo to mobilize, assign and appoint the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the term 2025 - 2030.

Accordingly, the Politburo decided that Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong would cease to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; and transfer him to participate in the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, holding the position of Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

According to the decision of the Politburo, the Party Executive Committee of Dong Thap province for the 2025 - 2030 term has 53 members, of which the Provincial Party Standing Committee has 16 members.

Appoint Ms. Nguyen Hai Tram as Standing Deputy Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee. Deputy Secretaries: Ms. Chau Thi My Phuong, Mr. Phan Van Thang, Mr. Tran Tri Quang.

Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong was born in 1967, in Chau Thanh district, former Tra Vinh province, now Vinh Long province. He has a bachelor's degree in political economics and administration. He is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Tra Vinh province, 14th and 15th terms.

Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong grew up from the grassroots, holding many positions in Tra Vinh province. In 1985, he was an officer of the Office of the People's Committee of Tra Vinh town. He then studied for a bachelor's degree in political economics at Ho Chi Minh City University of Science.

From December 1989 to 2005, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong worked at the People's Committee of Tra Vinh town and the Organizing Committee of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee.

From October 2005 to April 2012, Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong held the positions of Deputy Head, Standing Deputy Head and Head of the Organization Committee of Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee.

Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong served as Secretary of the Tra Vinh City Party Committee for nearly 2 years (from May 2012 to April 2014). After that, he served as Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and then Secretary of the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee from October 2020 to June 2025.

From July 2025, after merging the three provinces of Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Vinh Long into the new Vinh Long province, the Politburo appointed Mr. Ngo Chi Cuong as Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee after the merger.
