As part of a series of events celebrating the 130th anniversary of the founding of Son La province (October 10, 1895 - October 10, 2025), on the morning of October 8, at Tay Bac Square, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening ceremony of competitions in traditional sports and folk games under the National Target Program.

The tournament attracted 150 athletes from Chieng An, Chieng Coi, To Hieu and Chieng Sinh wards. The athletes competed in 5 traditional sports including: Tug of war, stick pushing, to mak le, throwing con and crossbow shooting.
