Prepare conditions for the 130th anniversary of Son La province's founding

Northwest Square is the venue for fair, cultural, artistic and sports activities . These days, hundreds of staff and technicians of the event organizing unit; electricity and telecommunications workers; singers, artists, artisans, mass art troupes and students are highly focused on completing tasks, content and programs, ensuring the best conditions for the Anniversary .

Within the framework of the celebration, many exciting activities will take place at the Northwest Square from October 8 to 10. One of the most anticipated events is the Fair for promoting trade of agricultural products and OCOP products in the Northwest - Son La region in 2025. With the theme "Convergence of the Northwest and international quintessence" , the Fair is an opportunity to promote, connect agricultural product consumption and introduce outstanding economic achievements of Son La province and other provinces in the country .

More than 400 students from the provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities also participated in the art program.

The fair will open at 7 p.m. on October 9, with a scale of about 250 booths, and nearly 240 booths have registered to participate. A notable new feature is the expansion of international cooperation with 10 booths from 5 provinces of Laos. In addition, the fair also brings together 30 agricultural booths from provinces and cities across the country such as: Phu Tho, Bac Ninh, Lam Dong, Ca Mau, Thanh Hoa, Lai Chau, Dien Bien, Lao Cai, Quang Tri, Ha Tinh... The event contributes to promoting the brand of agricultural products, OCOP products of Son La and promoting trade connections between the Northwestern provinces and the whole country.

The highlight of the event is the 130th Anniversary of the province's founding and the Art Program taking place at 8:00 p.m. on October 10 , with the theme "Son La's heroic spirit reaching far and wide with the country" .

Mr. Pham Hong Thu, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, informed: This is the largest art program ever, invested in a large scale with more than 1,000 professional actors and the public participating. In particular, the program applies performance technology, special effects and modern sound and lighting systems to vividly recreate 130 years of Son La history, from the period of cultural creation, Son La Prison, the Northwest Campaign to today's innovation achievements.

Currently, the stage installation work is being urgently completed ; the actors are enthusiastically practicing, ready for the rehearsal on the evening of October 8. The art program is broadcast live on STV channel and digital platforms of Son La Newspaper and Radio and Television; live singing on the Voice of Vietnam radio; and rebroadcast on TV channels of provinces and cities .

On October 8, the opening ceremony of traditional sports competitions will be held, including: Tug of war, stick pushing, To Mak Le, Con throwing and crossbow shooting at Tay Bac Square and the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center . On the same day , at Tay Bac Square , there will be an opening ceremony of a photo exhibition on the province's socio-economic development achievements; a Thai Xoe art festival will take place and traditional festivals and rituals of ethnic groups will be performed . This typical cultural activity will last throughout and will close and award prizes on the evening of October 10. On October 9, there will be a competition to display "Beautiful booths".

Bringing a unique cultural space experience, in the Northwest Square, stilt house models and mascots of Thai, Mong and Dao girls have been erected , creating an impression for visitors; at the same time, it is a tool to promote the event , serving people and tourists to visit and take souvenir photos .

In a series of celebratory activities, Son La has completed and put into use many key traffic and urban projects around the Northwest Square area, such as Pham Van Dong route, traffic route No. 4, and the project to renovate nearly 28 km of sidewalks, contributing to creating a spacious and modern appearance for the city.

Environmental sanitation is also focused on. Son La Urban Environment and Services Joint Stock Company has beautified the landscape of Tay Bac Square and inner-city streets by replacing flowers, pruning branches, cleaning, ensuring a clean, civilized space to serve event organization.

To ensure security, the armed forces proactively developed a master plan, launched a peak period of attacks and crackdowns on criminals, ensuring security, order and traffic safety. The checkpoints operated 24/7, 100% of officers and soldiers were on duty, ready to handle all situations; absolutely protected the safety of the event chain, the accommodation areas of the Central delegations, other provinces and tourists, contributing significantly to the overall success of the Anniversary.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of departments and branches, the preparation work has been basically completed , ready to welcome people and tourists . Every detail is carefully prepared, ensuring the Anniversary Ceremony takes place solemnly, safely and effectively .
