Opening of the 2024 Orchid Art Exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City

On September 13, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Dalat Flower Association in collaboration with the Dalat Phalaenopsis Orchid Club organized the opening of the first Artistic Orchid Exhibition - 2024. The exhibition aims to promote the highest quality products, especially Phalaenopsis orchids, to the Ho Chi Minh City market.

The exhibition attracted the participation of over 50 flower production and trading enterprises. The artisans created unique works of art from Phalaenopsis orchids with meaningful themes such as: Vietnam Brocade, My Vietnam, Happy Home, Saigon Pearl of the Far East...

The orchid art works will be available for visitors for 3 days, from September 13 to 15 at Kim Do Hotel - Yoyal Hotel Saigon (District 1, HCMC). Visitors can register with Lam Dong and HCMC businesses for instructions on painting phalaenopsis orchids, combining phalaenopsis orchids with driftwood, designing jewelry with phalaenopsis flowers, etc.

At the opening ceremony, the Dalat Flower Association organized the signing of contracts for Tet flower consumption and a memorandum of understanding on periodic flower consumption in 2025 for production and consumption of Phalaenopsis orchids between Lam Dong enterprises and Ho Chi Minh City enterprises, with a total value of more than 36.8 billion VND.

On the same day, the Dalat Flower Association held a seminar to share experiences in trading orchids for Tet, assessing the current production and consumption of Lam Dong Phalaenopsis orchids in 2024; Tet flowers with the impact of weather on the production process, challenges and pressures in production; instructions on choosing healthy and beautiful orchid varieties suitable for the Tet flower trading market; the process of packaging, transporting, preserving and caring for orchids for Tet.

Taiwanese (Chinese) enterprises supplying tissue culture varieties and consuming Lam Dong Phalaenopsis orchid products, along with dozens of enterprises producing and distributing Lam Dong Phalaenopsis orchids in the markets of the Eastern and Western provinces of the South attended the workshop.

Mr. Phan Thanh Sang, Chairman of the Dalat Flower Association, said this is the first time the Art Orchid Exhibition has been held in Ho Chi Minh City. The event also welcomes the 10th Dalat Flower Festival in 2024, taking place this coming December.

“The exhibition is an opportunity for Da Lat flower businesses to promote the highest quality products, especially Phalaenopsis orchids, to the Ho Chi Minh City market. The organizers hope that the event will become an opportunity for businesses to exchange and learn to improve production skills to continue expanding Phalaenopsis orchid exports to new markets such as the US and European countries, thereby increasing the export rate and participating more deeply in the domestic flower and Phalaenopsis orchid production chain of the world,” said the Chairman of the Da Lat Flower Association.

At the opening ceremony, the Dalat Flower Association called on its members to contribute more than 100 million VND to support the flood-affected people in the North. On the evening of September 15, when the exhibition closes, the Association will announce the amount of donations and hand them over to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province.
