Confirming to finalize 293 slow-moving projects in 2023

At the press conference on the socio -economic situation in the second quarter of 2023 organized by the Hanoi People's Committee, Chief of Office of the City People's Committee Truong Viet Dung answered the press regarding the progress of handling 712 slow-moving projects.

Accordingly, Chief of Office Truong Viet Dung said that the handling of slow-moving projects has been carried out by Hanoi City since 2011, spanning three terms and this term the City has been closely directing. The 17th City Party Committee has met twice, has passed resolutions and conclusions and the City Party Committee has made two decisions to establish two Steering Committees, assigning the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and the Chairman of the City People's Committee to be the heads of the steering committees.

The Chief of Office of Hanoi People's Committee informed that after 1 year of implementation, the data on handling slow-moving projects has shown to be very positive. In the total list of reviewed reports, there are 712 projects, up to now, there are 66 projects that the City People's Committee has decided to reclaim land, cancel the decision on land allocation, land lease or the Department of Planning and Investment has stopped the project implementation; 60 projects are completing procedures, expected to be completed in July. The remaining 293 projects continue to be handled.

“Thus, we have reduced 419 projects compared to the original list that has been reviewed, processed, promoted, and supported. There are only about 41.2% of the original total number of projects left,” Mr. Dung emphasized, adding that the City People's Committee recently reported that it will completely complete 293 projects in 2023. This demonstrates the great political determination of Hanoi City, the great efforts of the Executive Committee, the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and the City People's Committee.

"This is a very positive result after many years. The Secretary of the City Party Committee and the Chairman of the City People's Committee have directed that the list will be made public to the commune level and on mass media so that the authorities and people can monitor this content. On that basis, scenarios will be developed for projects that continue to be implemented, and solutions for projects that are canceled or terminated," said Chief of Office Truong Viet Dung.

The spokesperson of the City People's Committee also said that this morning (June 30), the Chairman of the City People's Committee directed to focus on reviewing about 50 slow-moving projects in Nam Tu Liem district; The project will sign a notice to review projects in Cau Giay district next week. The City determined that this is a regular job, the City's Departments and branches are actively involved, without waiting for the City People's Council's supervision .
