Khanh Hoa: Timely emergency treatment for sick fishermen on Truong Sa island

Previously, on October 6, fisherman Le Van Dong had a high fever but did not seek treatment. When his condition worsened, the crew took him to the Truong Sa Island Infirmary and he received timely emergency care.

On October 11, Truong Sa Island Infirmary (Brigade 146, Naval Region 4) said that the unit had just received and treated fisherman Le Van Dong, a worker on fishing boat QNg 90789 TS, who had a high fever, fatigue, cough with white phlegm, sore throat and nausea.

Previously, on October 6, fisherman Le Van Dong had a high fever but did not seek treatment. When his condition worsened, the crew took him to the Truong Sa Island Infirmary at 6:15 a.m. on October 11.

Clinical test results showed that the patient had electrolyte disturbances, viral fever, and upper respiratory tract infection.

Immediately after receiving the patient, the doctors and nurses of the Infirmary promptly implemented active treatment measures such as: intravenous fluids, electrolyte replacement, antibiotics, fever reduction and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Fisherman Le Van Dong’s health is currently stable. The patient is being monitored and cared for by doctors at Truong Sa Island Hospital.

Since the beginning of the year, Truong Sa Island Infirmary has received and promptly provided emergency care to dozens of fishermen who were sick or had accidents at sea. Timely medical support on the sea and islands of the Fatherland is a solid foundation, helping fishermen feel secure to go out to sea./.
