Field survey of the Project "Supporting information and propaganda on national defense, security, ethnicity and ethnic policies in the provinces in the mainland border areas"

On the afternoon of October 23, the Department of Propaganda of the Ministry of National Defense coordinated with the Provincial Military Command to organize a conference to survey the implementation of the Project "Supporting information and propaganda on national defense, security, ethnicity and ethnic policies in border provinces.

The Project "Supporting information and propaganda on national defense, security, ethnicity and ethnic policies in the provinces in the mainland border areas" was signed and issued by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1219/QD-TTg (referred to as Project 1219). The Project aims to create a strong change in the quality and effectiveness of information and propaganda in the provinces in the mainland border areas from now until 2030; contributing to building the national defense, the national security, the national border, the national defense posture, the people's security posture, maintaining the Party's ideological position; strengthening the great national unity bloc, ensuring national defense and security stability, building peaceful , friendly and developed borders. Thereby contributing to creating the premise and driving force to promote socio-economic development, improve people's lives, and firmly protect the Fatherland in the new situation.

Quang Ninh is an important locality in terms of socio-economics, national defense and foreign affairs. Immediately after the Prime Minister approved the Project, the province developed and issued Plan 286 on December 5, 2024 to concretize Project 1219. The Provincial Military Command was assigned as the lead agency to coordinate with localities and departments, branches and sectors to develop an implementation program. Although funding has not been allocated, with a proactive and self-reliant spirit, Quang Ninh has implemented Project 1219 with many solutions suitable to the practical situation; improving the effectiveness of propaganda on national defense and security, ethnicity and ethnic policies in the area; contributing to firmly ensuring national defense and security, maintaining national border sovereignty to serve fast and sustainable socio-economic development.

From July 1, implementing a two-level local government associated with streamlining the apparatus, Quang Ninh continues to direct commune-level localities to continue building and supplementing plans, promoting the application of information technology and digital transformation to effectively implement Project 1219 in the new situation.

At the conference, delegates discussed and analyzed the advantages and difficulties, proposed specific measures to effectively implement the Project in the coming time, first of all, the key tasks in 2025.

Colonel Nguyen Dinh Khiem, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command, delivered a concluding speech at the conference.

Concluding the conference, the leaders of the Press and Information Department, the Department of Propaganda of the Ministry of National Defense and the Provincial Military Command received opinions, recommendations and proposals; at the same time, requested the provincial departments, branches, and main military units stationed in the area to continue to proactively develop plans to effectively implement the Project. At the same time, diversify the forms of expression on traditional press forms and Internet and social media platforms; improve the efficiency of investment in serving information and propaganda work. Based on the reality, units and localities continue to advise and propose additional solutions and new approaches to send to the Provincial Military Command to synthesize and report to superiors to advise on adjusting the goals and tasks of the Project in accordance with the actual situation.
