The 1st Congress of Van Don Special Zone Trade Union: Striving to develop at least 750 more union members

On the afternoon of October 23, at Van Don Special Zone, the Van Don Special Zone Trade Union solemnly held its 1st Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Attending and directing the Congress was comrade Cao Tuong Huy, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Van Don Special Zone People's Council.

The Congress took place in an atmosphere of solidarity, democracy, and innovation, with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development" . In the 2023-2025 period, the Special Zone Trade Union achieved many outstanding results: Establishing 86 grassroots trade unions with 2,357 union members ; developing 23 new grassroots trade unions and more than 450 union members ; effectively organizing the "Tet Sum Vay" and "Worker's Month" programs, giving over 850 Tet gifts , supporting 5 disadvantaged worker families to build and repair "Union Shelter" houses ; coordinating the organization of 6 propaganda conferences and legal advice for over 500 workers ; mobilizing 156 outstanding union members to introduce to the Party for consideration of admission. The emulation movements "Good workers, creative workers", "Innovation, digital transformation" have been widely deployed, contributing to the successful completion of political tasks of each agency, unit and enterprise.

At the Congress, the Quang Ninh Provincial Labor Federation announced the Decision to appoint 7 comrades to the Executive Committee of the Van Don Special Zone Trade Union, Term I , and appoint the Inspection Committee and key positions. The Congress passed a Resolution setting the goal of developing at least 750 more union members by 2030, 100% of enterprises with 25 or more employees establishing unions , 85% of grassroots unions applying digital transformation , and each facility annually introducing at least 1 outstanding union member for the Party to consider admission.

Leaders of the Provincial Labor Federation and Van Don Special Zone presented flowers to congratulate the new Executive Committee of the Special Zone Labor Union.

The Congress called on all union members and employees to promote the tradition of "Discipline and Unity", unite and strive to successfully implement the Congress Resolution, contributing to the sustainable development of Van Don Special Economic Zone.
