A representative of the River Country Community Tourism Service Cooperative (Na Bo hamlet, Sao Bay commune) said that the cooperative has 130 camping rafts made by local people to serve tourists. The rafts are all made from bamboo, reed, and have roofs, all materials are natural and available locally. "At first, only a few households saw the beautiful river scenery so they built rafts to experience. After that, tourists saw the beauty and flocked to rent rafts to anchor in the middle of the river to cool off and eat on the rafts in the hot summer. Since then, people have made dozens of rafts to serve tourists," said a representative of the River Country Community Tourism Service Cooperative.

Mr. Minh Hoai, a tourist from Hanoi, shared: "I come to Hoa Binh many times. This time, I had the opportunity to relax at Kim Boi hot mineral spring, so the whole family went to the Na Bo river to experience it. The scenery is truly beautiful, with beautiful mountains and rivers, plus the rafts made of bamboo and roofed with palm leaves, quite unique, rarely found anywhere else in Vietnam."

It is known that the tourism service of renting camping rafts in Na Bo hamlet has flourished for more than 2 years now. Local people initially did it spontaneously, then were guided by authorities and functional agencies of Hoa Binh province to operate in accordance with regulations. "In normal weather, people are allowed to serve tourists and must have life jackets and protective gear to ensure safety when taking rafts out into the middle of deep rivers. On stormy days when floodwaters come, people must stop receiving guests and anchor rafts in the right place to ensure disaster prevention," said a representative of Sao Bay commune.
