Before the Vietnam national team's training session, goalkeeper Dang Van Lam shared with the media: "It's been a long time since I've returned to the national team, but for me, the team always feels very familiar. It's as if I just left the team yesterday."

“I got to meet my old teammates again, which made me feel very happy. Right now, I am very determined and will try to contribute my best,” goalkeeper Dang Van Lam added.
For about a year now, the goalkeeper who is currently playing for Ninh Binh club has not played for the national team. This time, Dang Van Lam is not sure to have an official place in the competition, because the team currently has a young goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien who is in very good form. However, this is not a big problem for the goalkeeper of Ninh Binh club.

Goalkeeper Dang Van Lam talked about the team atmosphere and the competition between positions: "Currently, the national team has many young players. We will focus together on the common goals of the Vietnam team."
“In each training session, the coach calls up the best goalkeepers of Vietnamese football. We will support each other in training and competition. Who will be the main goalkeeper or how they contribute is decided by the head coach. The important thing is that we all aim for the common goal of the flag and the shirt,” goalkeeper Dang Van Lam affirmed.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will train in Thu Dau Mot (HCMC) until October 8. After that, the team will enter two matches with Nepal, including the first leg at 7:30 p.m. on October 9 at Go Dau Stadium (HCMC) and the second leg at 7:30 p.m. on October 14 at Thong Nhat Stadium (HCMC). These are matches in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
