At around 5:00 p.m. on October 1, the Fatherland Front Committee of Phuc Hoa commune received an urgent report from the family of Ms. Dam Thi Hoi, born in 1989, residing in Na Rieng hamlet, about signs of labor and needing to be taken to the hospital immediately. However, the roads out of the hamlet were completely isolated by high, fast-flowing floodwaters.
Recognizing this as a dangerous, emergency situation that could threaten the lives of mother and baby, the commune leaders and the Commune Civil Defense Steering Committee promptly coordinated and directed a working group consisting of officers, soldiers, departments, and mass organizations of the commune to help the mother. From the mother's house to the point where the working group could reach, the road was about 200m long, but floodwater had overflowed the slippery, deep-watered road, posing many potential risks. However, the authorities promptly joined the family in helping to bring the mother to the hospital safely.
The actions of the rescue force in Phuc Hoa commune, not afraid of difficulties and dangers, affirm the spirit of "For the safety of people's lives is above all" and the initiative and determination of the local government in the work of preventing and fighting natural disasters, ensuring the safety of people's lives.
