On July 1, the People's Committee of Chau Doc City, An Giang Province announced that the activities will take place from July 5 to 11, according to annual traditional rituals, including the ceremony and festival to commemorate the 195th anniversary of the death of the famous god Thoai Ngoc Hau (1829 - 2024).

The ceremony includes the ancestor worship ceremony which usually takes place at 4 p.m. on July 10; the main worship ceremony at 4 a.m. on July 11 at Thoai Ngoc Hau tomb; the 195th anniversary of the death of the famous god Thoai Ngoc Hau and the Thoai Ngoc Hau street festival in Tan Lo Kieu Luong.

According to the People's Committee of Chau Doc City, the celebration aims to preserve and promote the value of cultural identity and national history, commemorate the contributions of ancestors to the locality and Chau Doc land, and educate the tradition of remembering the source of drinking water, honoring the merits of the ancients for the younger generation to learn and follow.

TT - On July 21, the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the People's Committee of An Giang Province held a ceremony to commemorate the 186th anniversary (1829 - 2015) of the death of the famous Thoai Ngoc Hau at the national relic of the ancestral temple of An Hai and Thoai Ngoc Hau villages (Son Tra District, Da Nang City).
