An Giang signs cooperation agreement to search for martyrs' remains in Preah Sihanouk province

On the afternoon of October 7, at the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Hall (Kingdom of Cambodia), the An Giang Provincial Task Force and the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Task Force held a signing ceremony for cooperation in searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the wars in Cambodia, period XXV (dry season 2025 - 2026).

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Task Force of An Giang Province Le Trung Ho and Mr. Sok Phea, Deputy Governor, Head of the Provincial Task Force of Preah Sihanouk Province co-chaired the signing ceremony. Consul General of Vietnam in Preah Sihanouk Province Lai Xuan Chien attended the signing ceremony.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee of An Giang Province Le Trung Ho and Mr. Sok Phea, Deputy Governor, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee of Preah Sihanouk Province signed the memorandum of cooperation.

Since the implementation of the Agreement between the Government of Vietnam and the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia signed on August 28, 2000, in the capital Phnom Penh, up to now, 2 teams searching for and collecting martyrs' remains in An Giang province have searched for and collected 4,286 martyrs' remains in 6 provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia, of which in Preah Sihanouk province, Team K92 of the Military Command of An Giang province has searched for and collected 205 martyrs' remains.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee of An Giang Province Le Trung Ho presented a gift to Mr. Sok Phea, Deputy Governor, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee of Preah Sihanouk Province.

The Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee said that the above results were achieved thanks to the close coordination and wholehearted support of leaders at all levels, authorities, Specialized Committees, armed forces and people of Preah Sihanouk province.

Comrade Le Trung Ho expressed his sincere gratitude, noble sentiments, and valuable assistance from the government, armed forces, and people of Preah Sihanouk province for creating favorable conditions to help the Task Force and Team K92 carry out their tasks in the past time.

Mr. Sok Phea, Deputy Governor, Head of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Committee, presented gifts to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the An Giang Provincial Committee, Le Trung Ho.

Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Le Trung Ho said that the search, collection and repatriation of martyrs' remains contributed to alleviating some of the pain and loss of martyrs' relatives and demonstrated the morality and tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the Vietnamese people.

Thereby, we hope that the Party leaders, the government, the Specialized Committee and the People of Preah Sihanouk province will continue to pay attention to directing, coordinating, supporting and creating favorable conditions for Team K92 to continue its mission of searching and collecting the remains of martyrs who died in the province to achieve the best results.

Authorized by the Government of Vietnam's Task Force, the Political Commissar of the An Giang Provincial Military Command presented funding to support the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Task Force.

Mr. Sok Phea, Deputy Governor, Head of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Task Force, said that Preah Sihanouk province will continue to support cooperation, survey, search and provide information for Team K92 to complete its tasks and successfully complete this cooperation.

Preah Sihanouk province supports the plan to continue cooperation in searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia in the province in the 25th period (dry season 2025 - 2026) and the following years.

Colonel Huynh Van Khoi, Political Commissar of An Giang Provincial Military Command, presented gifts to the armed forces of Preah Sihanouk province.

Representatives of the Department of Home Affairs of An Giang province presented gifts to the Department of Social Affairs, Veterans and Rehabilitation of Preah Sihanouk province .

Representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs of An Giang province presented gifts to the Office of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial City Hall.

On this occasion, the An Giang Provincial Task Force was authorized by the Vietnamese Government Task Force to award funding to support the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Task Force in coordinating activities to help Team K92 search and collect the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during the war in Cambodia in Preah Sihanouk province, dry season 2025 - 2026.
