Bank interest rates today October 10, 2025: Online deposit interest rates increase sharply

Standard Chartered Bank from October 9 increased online deposit interest rates from 1-3%/year for terms of 1-36 months. The latest online deposit interest rates in VND, received at the end of the term, are as follows: 1-month term is 2.6%/year, 2-month term is 2.75%/year and 3-month term is 3.1%/year.

The bank's online deposit interest rate for a 6-month term has been increased to 3.8% per year, while the latest 9-month term is 4.4% per year.

The highest online savings interest rate just announced by Standard Chartered is 4.74%/year after an increase of 0.3%/year. This is the savings interest rate applied for terms from 12-36 months.

According to a survey of interest rates at foreign banks and joint venture banks operating in Vietnam, the highest interest rate is 5.95%/year listed by Public Bank for 18-month online deposits.

The second highest interest rate among these banks is 5.8%/year, listed by Woori Bank for online deposits with terms from 24 months.

Vietnam-Russia Joint Venture Bank (VRB) is also in the leading group when it is listing the highest deposit interest rate of 5.7%/year, term of 24-36 months.

Previously, VRB added an additional 0.8%/year interest rate to all customers making online savings deposits from 1-36 months during the period from August 16 to September 14.

In general, deposit interest rates at foreign banks are still lower than the average deposit interest rates at domestic commercial banks.

Currently, the highest 12-month deposit interest rate among foreign banks and joint venture banks is 5.5%/year, listed by Public Bank, Indovina Bank (IVB) and VRB. The 12-month deposit interest rate at Woori Bank and CIMB is 5.3% and 5.2%/year, respectively.

For 6-month savings interest rates, VRB is leading with 5.1%/year. Next are CIMB and Public Bank with 5%/year. The remaining banks all listed interest rates below 5%/year for 6-month terms.

The highest 3-month term bank interest rate is 4.5%/year listed by CIMB. This bank is also leading the 1-month term bank interest rate with 4.3%/year.
