Lam Dong: Students exchange toxic waste for gifts

On October 18, the People's Committee of Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat (Lam Dong Province) organized the program "Exchanging waste for gifts" with the participation of many people and students.

Many students were present at Da Lat Flower Garden to participate in the program.

On the first day of launching, the program received a great response from the local people, students and youth union members. Many students collected all kinds of waste together, participated in picking up plastic waste in the Xuan Huong Lake area and brought it back to exchange for gifts such as books, pens, trees, laundry detergent, hand sanitizer, etc.

Students of Lam Vien ward - Da Lat enthusiastically participated in the program to exchange gifts of school supplies.

In addition, many agricultural households have brought waste such as pesticide packaging to participate in the program to exchange for gifts, thereby also limiting the amount of waste released into the environment, especially streams and lakes in the central area of ​​Da Lat.

All types of waste will be classified and treated according to procedures, especially hazardous waste such as pesticide packaging, batteries, accumulators, and light bulbs.

The program of exchanging waste for gifts will be organized weekly by the People's Committee of Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat in the Da Lat Flower Garden area, with the expectation of creating a familiar destination for exchanging and collecting waste for Da Lat residents and tourists, contributing to raising awareness of environmental protection.
