Raised 615 billion VND to support the Cuban people

Attending were comrade Do Van Chien, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cuba to Vietnam Rogelio Polanco Fuentes.

At the event, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, said that implementing activities in the "Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Year 2025" on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Cuba (1960 - 2025), the Vietnam Red Cross Society was assigned by the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front to preside over the organization of the Program to mobilize support for the Cuban people with the theme "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship".

From the launch date (August 13) to October 16, the program received a total of 615 billion VND in donations.

Comrade Do Van Chien awarded certificates of merit to groups and individuals who actively contributed to the program.

On September 1, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, comrade Do Van Chien, on behalf of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, presented the first installment of nearly 385 billion VND to the Cuban people.

The second round of donations will be managed publicly and transparently and will be transferred to the Cuban people as soon as possible, contributing to sharing difficulties with the friendly country and strengthening the special friendship between the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Cuba.

Speaking at the event, comrade Do Van Chien stated that the program "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship" received deep attention and deep affection from many people.

"We all feel very clearly that from the elderly to children, from the mountains to the plains, all classes and social strata... have supported the program with all gratitude, appreciation, and cherishing the close brotherly friendship between Vietnam and Cuba," comrade Do Van Chien shared.

Honor and reward outstanding groups and individuals in the program

Along with the material support, the songwriting campaign "Vietnam - Cuba: Forever the song of solidarity and friendship" received response from hundreds of professional and amateur musicians and artists across the country, creating many emotional works praising the Vietnam - Cuba friendship.

"The success of the "65 years of Vietnam - Cuba friendship" program has opened up many new and suitable ways of thinking and doing to effectively implement the three pillars: Party foreign affairs , state diplomacy , and people-to-people diplomacy between Vietnam and Cuba to foster and elevate to a new height the friendly, traditional, and brotherly relationship between Vietnam and Cuba, becoming increasingly strong and beautiful," Comrade Do Van Chien emphasized.
