MU spent nearly 30 million euros to replace Onana with Emiliano Martinez

Emiliano Martinez is reportedly on his way to Old Trafford to replace Onana, with a deal between United and Aston Villa nearing completion.

According to Argentine newspaper Clarin, MU is having active negotiations with Aston Villa about the Emiliano Martinez deal.

This source confirmed that the agreements between the two sides are almost completed and the number 1 goalkeeper of the Argentine national team is preparing to leave Aston Villa to join MU.

Additional information provided, although Emiliano Martinez has a contract termination clause of 25 million euros, MU is willing to pay Aston Villa more, being given nearly 30 million euros to get the 32-year-old goalkeeper as well as the convenience of dividing the payment into installments.

Lanacion said that coach Ruben Amorim personally asked the MU recruitment team to bring in 'Dibu' Emiliano Martinez to replace Andre Onana, who was injured in a recent training session and will have to rest for about 2 months.
