Improving the capacity to apply Artificial Intelligence in propaganda and foreign information work

Conference delegates

Attending the conference were representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches and sectors; spokespeople and officials in charge of foreign information work of agencies and units; along with reporters and journalists from news agencies and newspapers in the province.

At the Conference, delegates were introduced to three key topics by lecturers from the Institute of Journalism and Communication, Academy of Journalism and Propaganda. The first topic focused on skills in applying information technology and improving the capacity to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in foreign information work, propagating the Party and State's policies and guidelines; at the same time emphasizing the essential role of policy communication work in the current context.

Mr. Tran Hong Tien - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism delivered the opening speech at the conference.

The second topic provides knowledge and skills in speaking and providing information to the press, communication skills with press agencies as well as sharing experiences in effectively contacting, processing and responding to information.

The third topic deals with communication crisis management skills, analyzes the role of the press and media in the crisis management process, and provides guidance on proactive and flexible approaches and solutions to communication crises.

In the context of strong digital technology development, especially the explosion of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the application of AI in the field of journalism and propaganda is becoming increasingly necessary and urgent. AI not only supports the optimization of the news production process, analyzes public opinion trends on social networks, but also helps agencies and units quickly detect and handle false information, and orient public opinion effectively and promptly. Through the integration of AI in foreign information work and policy propaganda, authorities can improve the quality of communication content, personalize propaganda messages to specific target groups, thereby increasing communication effectiveness and enhancing people's trust in the policies and guidelines of the Party and State.

In addition to the thematic content, the Conference also provided important knowledge on the Press Law, Decree No. 09/2017/ND-CP dated February 9, 2017 of the Government detailing the speaking and providing information to the press of state administrative agencies; Decree No. 71/2015/ND-CP dated September 7, 2015 on the management of foreign information activities; Regulations on foreign information activities in Dak Lak province and a number of other relevant documents...

In addition to the thematic presentations, the Conference also devoted time for delegates to discuss, exchange and resolve difficulties in the process of performing the tasks of speaking and providing information, especially in the context of modern media and the strong impact of AI technology.

The conference aims to improve capacity and skills in applying technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, in propaganda and foreign information work; at the same time, enhance speaking skills, communication with the press and proactively and effectively handling media crises./.
