Raising public awareness in border protection work

On the afternoon of October 9, at Loc Thanh commune, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Border Affairs of Dong Nai province Le Truong Son chaired a working session with 8 border communes of the province including: Bu Gia Map, Dak O, Hung Phuoc, Thien Hung, Tan Tien, Loc Tan, Loc Thanh, Loc Thanh on the results of implementing tasks after merging under the 2-level local government model. According to the report at the working session, 8 border communes of Dong Nai province have a border of more than 258km adjacent to Mondulkiri, Kratie and Tbong Khmum provinces of the Kingdom of Cambodia. In the area of ​​8 communes, there are more than 145 thousand people. The main economic structure is agriculture and forestry, accounting for more than 60%, industry - construction under 15%, trade - services more than 20%.

In these localities, there is 1 Hoa Lu International Border Gate Economic Zone, 1 Hoa Lu International Road Border Gate (Loc Thanh Commune), 2 main border gates: Hoang Dieu (Hung Phuoc Commune) and Loc Thinh (Loc Thanh Commune), 1 Tan Tien sub-border gate and 1 Loc Tan opening. At the meeting, representatives of border communes also raised difficulties and obstacles and proposed the Provincial People's Committee to approve the policy of repairing and upgrading border patrol routes, creating favorable conditions for border posts to perform well their assigned political tasks. At the same time, it proposed to issue separate policies on staffing and operating costs for border communes to perform well their foreign affairs tasks; approved the policy for 8 border communes to carry out a general planning in 2026 as a legal basis for implementing works and projects in the area...

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son acknowledged the recommendations and proposals of the 8 border communes to synthesize and request the opinions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee to consider the policy for implementation by relevant departments and branches.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested to perfect key positions in localities and local Party committees and authorities to continue to thoroughly grasp and specifically implement the directions of all levels on security, order, and protection of border sovereignty and security; raise public awareness in border protection work, associated with solid defense zones.
