“Creative tree” at Khatoco Tobacco Factory

Mr. Khue shared that tobacco industry machinery and equipment are quite specialized, over time the quality decreases, forcing the import of replacement parts at very high prices, sometimes not being able to be imported immediately. This has motivated him and his colleagues to research and study solutions to localize spare parts with suitable materials and reduce costs, meeting the continuous production needs of the factory. During his time working at the factory, from the role of an engineer operating the cellophane machine, then chief technician, with his passion for creative work, Mr. Khue has researched and implemented a series of initiatives. To date, Mr. Khue has had 16 initiatives and solutions to improve techniques and rationalize production, including 5 initiatives at the corporation level and 11 initiatives at the factory level.

With many initiatives and technical innovations, Engineer Nguyen Duy Khue was honored to receive the Nguyen Duc Canh Award from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in 2023; the title "Outstanding Intellectual of Khanh Hoa Province" from the Provincial People's Committee in 2022 and many certificates of creative labor and certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee...

Notably, in 2020, he discovered that Focke packaging machines used glue wheels that had worn out the copper foil for a long time, requiring frequent adjustment and replacement, reducing productivity. He researched and came up with an initiative to overcome the disadvantages of glue wheels, increase the life of the copper foil and improve the efficiency of the equipment. This initiative has benefited the company more than 115 million VND/year. In 2021, the solution "Improving materials, localizing materials for machine parts of the blade cutting unit on the GD 500-bag/minute machine line" has benefited the unit more than 235 million VND/year. In 2022, the solution "Converting cellophane wrapping - labeling, wrapping, and cellophane wrapping machines of the HLP5 packaging line from Kingsize to Demi format and the HLP2 line to Semi-Kingsize" has benefited more than 435 million VND/year. In particular, in 2023, the solution "Designing a bag separator and a glass-glass stretching mechanism on a 300-bag/minute Focke machine line" that Mr. Khue had cherished for 3 years bore fruit when successfully applied to the unit's production practice, bringing a value of more than 1.3 billion VND to the factory. In 2024, Mr. Khue and his colleagues had the solution "Improving the tongue sheet sorter after cutting on a 300-bag/minute high-speed machine line" to help reduce machine downtime for special profiles, increasing the productivity of the machine line...

Engineer Nguyen Duy Khue's initiatives have contributed to improving the efficiency of machinery and equipment, increasing labor productivity and bringing many values, significantly reducing costs for the enterprise. The factory will continue to create favorable conditions for employees to promote initiatives, improve techniques and rationalize production. Through the creative labor emulation movement, the factory's employees have had many opportunities to demonstrate their own value, affirming their role in the construction and development of Khanh Viet Corporation.

Engineer Nguyen Duy Khue confided: “Beloved Uncle Ho once advised: “Competition is patriotism, patriotism requires competition”; “Invention, innovation, and technical improvement are also important issues. It must be admitted that the vast majority of our workers are diligent, intelligent, and have many good initiatives...”, this is the guiding principle for me in the process of working and striving to be creative at the factory. In addition, the creative labor emulation movement is also of interest to the leaders of Khanh Viet Corporation in general and Khatoco Khanh Hoa Tobacco Factory in particular, and is encouraged to be implemented in all departments, offices, factories, and workshops. This is also the motivation for us to always seek, research, and come up with ideas and initiatives to apply to the factory's production process.”
