Established on the basis of merging Song Ma town and Na Nghiu commune, up to now, Song Ma commune has 6 products recognized as 3-star OCOP, including: My Duyen sticky rice cake, Kim Cuong dried moss, Luong sticky rice, black summer grapes, dried mango and Quyet Thang honey.
Immediately after the merger, the commune has implemented a review, built specific goals, consolidated and improved the quality of OCOP products for the period 2020 - 2025. Products are supported in printing packaging, labels, registering for traceability with QR codes and participating in trade promotion fairs inside and outside the province to promote and expand the market.

At the same time, the commune has strengthened the Evaluation Council and the Working Group, and promoted awareness of OCOP to the people through media, conferences, and group and village meetings. Thanks to that, people have gradually mastered the production process, quality management, and food safety, contributing to increasing the value and enhancing the brand of local products.

Song Ma Honey Beekeeping Cooperative was established in 2019 with 12 members and a charter capital of over VND 2 billion. The Cooperative has cooperated with local beekeepers to maintain about 5,000 Italian bee colonies each year, producing over 120 tons of honey. Members have applied science and technology, improved product quality, built their image and affirmed their brand. In 2023, the Cooperative's Quyet Thang honey product was recognized as a typical provincial agricultural product, ranked 3 stars by OCOP.
Mr. Hoang Manh Doan, Deputy Director of the Cooperative, shared: Participating in the OCOP program, the Cooperative was supported with more than 100 million VND to print packaging, labels, and product display shelves; at the same time, it was consulted and guided on the process and procedures for brand building. After being recognized as OCOP, honey products have the opportunity to promote in many programs inside and outside the province, and are posted on e-commerce platforms such as Postmart, Bachhoa, Sendo... and social networking platforms Zalo, TikTok. Thanks to that, the Cooperative's products are increasingly known to customers nationwide. In 2024, the Cooperative's revenue will reach 12 billion VND, creating stable jobs for 20 workers and more than 100 seasonal workers with an average income of 5-7 million VND/person/month.
In Quyet Tien village, Song Ma Agriculture and Forestry Company Limited invested in more than 1 hectare of black summer grapes grown in greenhouses, covered walkways and applied drip irrigation methods. In June 2025, the company harvested 3 tons of grapes, selling them at 80,000 - 100,000 VND/kg to traders in and outside the province. Currently, the vineyard is in the growth and flowering stage, preparing for the second harvest of the year.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Vuong, Director of the company, said: The vineyard is cultivated according to VietGap process, rich in nutrients, has a traceability stamp, ensuring food hygiene and safety. In 2023, the black grape product was recognized as a typical agricultural product at the provincial level, achieving 3-star OCOP. This is a proud achievement and also a motivation for the cooperative to improve quality, gradually conquering larger markets in the coming time.

With the achieved results, the One Commune One Product (OCOP) program has become an important "lever" to help Song Ma maximize its existing potential and advantages, affirming the brand of local agricultural products. Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, Vice Chairman of Song Ma Commune People's Committee, said: In the period of 2025 - 2030, the commune strives to develop at least 1 new typical OCOP product. Therefore, the commune is focusing on re-evaluating the current status of the product to determine the potential, build a suitable development roadmap, and prioritize resources for products with strengths. At the same time, assign specialized staff to monitor and support from the stage of building profiles, promoting, connecting businesses to consuming products.
With the support of the government, the dynamism and creativity of cooperatives and people, Song Ma will continue to produce many quality products, contributing to increasing income and promoting sustainable socio -economic development.
