The National Assembly Standing Committee has just approved increasing the family deduction level in personal income tax, applicable from the 2026 tax period.

Accordingly, taxpayers are deducted 15.5 million VND/month, and each dependent is 6.2 million VND - an increase of about 40% compared to the current level. This is the first adjustment since 2020, to match the increase in average income and GDP per capita. According to the Ministry of Finance , this policy will reduce budget revenue by about 21,000 billion VND per year, but contribute to supporting workers, stimulating consumption and ensuring tax fairness in the context of increasing general income of people.
