According to the proposal of the Ministry of Home Affairs , civil servants and public employees will have Lunar New Year holidays from Saturday, February 14, 2026 (December 27, year of the Snake) to Sunday, February 22, 2026 (January 6, year of the Horse). Thus, the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year holiday will last 9 consecutive days, including 5 Tet holidays according to the provisions of the Labor Code and 4 weekend days.
The Ministry of Home Affairs also proposed that on the occasion of the National Day holiday in 2026, civil servants and public employees will have a day off on September 2, 2026 and the day immediately preceding September 1, 2026; swapping the working day from Monday (August 31, 2026) to the weekly day off on Saturday (August 22, 2026).
Civil servants and public employees will have the 2026 National Day holiday from Saturday, August 29, 2026 to Wednesday, September 2, 2026. Thus, on the occasion of the 2026 National Day holiday, civil servants and public employees will have 5 days off (including 2 National Day holidays according to regulations, 2 weekly days off and 1 day exchanged with a weekly day off)...
