
Dong Son Commune People's Committee said that the locality is sending a document to the Rescue, Conservation and Development Center of Creatures - Cuc Phuong National Park to have a plan to receive 2 pangolins handed over by Mr. Quang Cong Vuong in Liem Quang village, Dong Son commune. According to Mr. Vuong, while checking his garden, he suddenly discovered 2 strange scaly animals crawling near the base of a tree. Realizing that these could be pangolins, an animal species in the list of animals that need to be strictly protected, he proactively contacted Dong Son Commune Police to report and hand them over. The authorities identified the 2 pangolins as yellow pangolins, belonging to group IB, a rare and endangered species, weighing about 3kg.
Also on October 13, the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism , Chu Mom Ray National Park Management Board organized the reception of 1 Java pangolin discovered by residents living in Le Loi 2 residential group, Dak Bla ward, and voluntarily handed over to the Dak Bla ward People's Committee. After completing the inspection, the local authorities and forest rangers quickly transported and handed over the Java pangolin to the Center for Biodiversity Conservation and Ecotourism (Chu Mom Ray National Park Management Board) to organize rescue and care according to regulations. Java pangolin is a group IB forest animal, included in the List of endangered, precious and rare forest plants and animals.
