Previously, the Prime Minister entrusted Vietnam Television to coordinate with Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee to carry out the mission of building 37 houses for 37 households in Nu village, who have suffered many losses due to storms and floods. During the music night, Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, Chairman of the Inter-Pacific Group (IPPG), brought 1 billion VND in cash, along with a special painting of himself on the occasion of his 70th birthday, with the message: "Hope that not only our compatriots in the country, but also our overseas Vietnamese also turn to their homeland. Not just one person with 1 billion, but thousands, millions of Vietnamese people around the world, let's join hands, a piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full".

This is not the first time Mr. Johnathan has contributed to support people during this flood. A few days before, he went to VTV9 alone to send 1 billion to Tam Long Viet Fund right after hearing about the storm and flood. Together with Mr. Johnathan, the members of the IPPG family contributed 6 billion to this storm and flood.

Mr. Johnathan Hanh Nguyen sent support to flood victims

“My family has a retirement fund of about 10 billion. Through visits to the children in the hospital and disaster relief missions, I have a little left. My children said, ‘Dad, you’re grown up now, why do you keep the money? You should pay it all. We’ll take care of everything. Today, I would like to contribute another 1 billion in cash,” Mr. Hanh shared.

So, this 73-year-old CEO brought his familiar paper bag containing 1 billion in cash to give directly to the music night. Not stopping there, when the Organizing Committee brought the donation box under the stage, Mr. Hanh took the last coins in his pocket and put them in, then enthusiastically participated in the auction of 2 souvenirs in the program, indirectly supporting an additional 850 million right in this warm music night.

At the end of the program "Southern Affection", the total amount of money that people across the country as well as the audience attending the music night donated was 5,266,000,000 VND, leaving many touching emotions in the attendees, spreading the spirit of "helping each other" from the Southern people to the beloved North. Previously, Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9) also donated more than 4.3 billion VND and many other relief items.
