Many households in Ham Phu commune have difficulty finding water for daily use.

For many years, the domestic water source of 200 households in hamlets 6 and 7 of Phu Dien village, Ham Phu commune, Ham Thuan Bac district has mainly relied on dug wells. However, in recent years, people have not felt secure using this water source.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuan - Hamlet 6 - Phu Dien Village, Ham Phu Commune, Ham Thuan Bac District shared: The well water source is contaminated with alum and salt, household appliances quickly rust and break; to protect health, the family spends more than 100,000 VND/month to buy bottled water from agents for daily living, eating and drinking. The well water source is only for bathing and washing. For families with economic difficulties, who do not have enough money to buy bottled water, they have to take advantage of their time to carry water to residential areas that have water for daily use, which greatly affects their lives and production.

Ms. Tran Thi Minh Binh - Head of the Women's Association of Phu Dien village, Ham Phu commune said: In the face of the people's difficulty in accessing water for daily use, the People's Committee of the commune directed the Phu Dien village Executive Board to mobilize people to contribute from 1.5 - 2 million VND/household to implement the project of collecting water for daily use by socialization. The Phu Dien village Executive Board has fully paid the amount of money contributed by the people to the People's Committee of the commune. But until now, after nearly a year, the project of collecting water for daily use for the people has not been implemented.

Mr. Vo Van Tam - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ham Phu Commune, Ham Thuan Bac District said: Phu Dien Village, Ham Phu Commune already has a domestic water supply pipeline installed along the traffic route from km 19 of National Highway 28 to Phu Dien - Phu Son. From this water supply pipeline, it is easy to connect and install additional domestic water supply pipelines along the main traffic route to hamlets 6 and 7 with a total length of over and under 1.5 km. However, through accounting for the funds contributed by the people, it is not enough to construct the project, so the People's Committee of Ham Phu Commune proposed that the district pay attention and provide more support.

Hopefully, with the attention of authorities at all levels and functional sectors, the project to supply water for daily life to people in hamlets 6 and 7 - Phu Dien village, Ham Phu commune will soon be implemented. People will use clean water, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and improving their quality of life. At the same time, Ham Phu commune will increase the rate of households using clean water, ensuring that it meets the standards of an advanced new rural commune.
