The Fair for promoting trade of agricultural products and OCOP products in the Northwest region - Son La in 2025 is one of a series of activities to celebrate the 130th anniversary of the founding of Son La province to promote connection, cooperation and trade promotion between Son La and other provinces in the Northwest region and across the country. With a scale of 250 booths with the participation of 130 units representing provinces and cities across the country, the fair displays and introduces a variety of typical agricultural products, regional specialties, traditional cuisine , handicrafts and many high-quality OCOP products, certified OCOP from 3 to 5 stars.

As the host of the Fair for promoting trade of agricultural products and OCOP products in the Northwest region - Son La in 2025, businesses, cooperatives and localities in Son La province have brought typical products with the rich flavor of the mountains and forests, such as: smoked meat, smoked meat; Cham Cheo, Thua O, Banh Day, and many delicious fresh fruit products in harvest season. Although very familiar to local people, these products still attract a large number of tourists and people to visit, enjoy and buy as gifts.

Participating in this fair, Kim Tien Phat Cooperative has 2 booths, displaying and introducing traditional specialties of Son La. Ms. Lu Thi Tien, Director of the Cooperative, shared: In order to introduce to tourists from all over the world about the specialties of Son La, we introduce to diners dishes such as: smoked buffalo meat, smoked pork; smoked sausage; cham cheo... with the desire to introduce the culinary culture of Son La in general and of the Thai ethnic group of Son La in particular. At the booth, visitors can not only enjoy the products on the spot with sticky rice, but also buy them as gifts.

At the stalls Mac Thit Xiu and Thua O Luu Lo, the stall owners introduced and invited visitors to enjoy the dried meat and dried fish products with sticky rice or served with young cabbage leaves, herbs, lemongrass, ginger, wild eggplant... dipped in Cham Cheo or Thua O sauce. This is a very unique culinary combination of the Northwest.

While enjoying the food at the booth, Mr. Hoang Van Hien, Yen Chau commune, Son La province, said: These are very familiar dishes in the daily life of the Thai people, I am very happy that our traditional dishes are promoted at this fair.

At the booth of Minh Thuy Com Agricultural Cooperative, many people and tourists visited and enjoyed. The booth owner enthusiastically introduced and invited guests to experience the typical products with the flavor of Hanoi's autumn. Mr. Bui Duc Phuong, an employee of Minh Thuy Com Agricultural Cooperative, Hanoi said: The time of the fair is the time of making Com, so the products displayed at the fair are very fresh, such as: Com sticky rice, Com burnt rice, Xu Xue coconut Com cake; Com sausage; Com yogurt.

At the 2025 Northwest - Son La Agricultural Products and OCOP Products Trade Promotion Fair, visitors will not only enjoy Son La highland specialties but also have the opportunity to experience quintessential flavors from all over the country.

The booth of Minh Hien Food Processing and Service Cooperative of Nghe An province is one of the attractive stops, where visitors can find the typical flavors of Nghe cuisine. The most prominent is the specialty veal ham, made from fresh veal from Nam Dan, Nghe An.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Director of Minh Hien Food Processing and Service Cooperative, said: Our products are proud to be 4-star OCOP standard products, ensuring food safety and hygiene and carrying local cultural values. During the fair, many people from Nghe An came to buy and introduce to their relatives to enjoy the flavors of their hometown, which previously had to be bought all the way to Nghe An.

Equally attractive was the booth of Dong Thap province, famous for its high-quality durian. Representatives of Ut Mo Durian Trading and Development Company Limited brought to the fair typical products made from fresh durian, making the sweet aroma spread throughout the space. Durian desserts and durian cakes with their rich, fragrant taste "stuck" to diners, attracting thousands of visitors every day. Many businesses also placed large orders for distribution after the fair.

Although she lives in Mai Son, but through Facebook, she learned that there was a durian booth of Ut Mo at the fair, so Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai lined up to buy some to enjoy. Ms. Hoai said: I really like durian, but I have not found a reputable distributor of Ut Mo before. When I knew that the fair had a booth of the company, I immediately went to "hunt" for it. The durian cake here is fresh, sweet, and lightly fatty - really worth traveling dozens of kilometers to enjoy.

To serve visitors to enjoy the products and typical dishes of the localities, the Organizing Committee arranged the booths reasonably, creating conditions for visitors to visit, learn about the products, and easily move, compare and enjoy the products.

In the space of the fair filled with colors and flavors, geographical distances seemed to be shortened. Specialty stalls from all over the country gathered together, bringing with them the typical flavors of their homeland. Each stall was a culinary “ambassador”, contributing to creating a vivid, colorful picture of Vietnamese culinary culture right in the heart of Son La.
