Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai was appointed as Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade from June 21 under Decision No. 555 signed and issued by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh . The term of appointment is 5 years, the decision takes effect from the date of signing.

At the decision-giving ceremony, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien congratulated the new Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai and emphasized that this was an event that the Ministry of Industry and Trade was looking forward to because in the past three years, the Ministry of Industry and Trade had only had a leader from the Ministry's functional units.

Mr. Dien assessed that since working at the units in the ministry, Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai has demonstrated his mettle, professional qualifications, capacity, responsibility, political qualities and received the trust of the collective units where he worked.

The Minister also hopes that the new Deputy Minister will strive even harder to complete his tasks, with the consensus, support and solidarity from the collective; maintain political qualities, steadfastness, constantly strive, train and improve professional expertise.

Speaking at the ceremony to receive the new assignment, the new Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai expressed his sincere thanks to the central ministries, departments and branches for their impartial implementation of regulations on reviewing and appraising personnel records to advise competent authorities to complete the appointment procedures.

"I would like to express my special thanks to the Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for considering me to participate in the industry's work and for encouraging and helping me in the past time," Mr. Hoai shared.

Receiving instructions, Deputy Minister Truong Thanh Hoai affirmed that with the new responsibility, he will always try to learn to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

At the same time, we will absolutely comply with the assignment with the Party Executive Committee and the Ministry's leadership under the direction of the Minister, unite and work together to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party and State to the Industry and Trade sector.

Thus, up to now, the organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade has been basically completed, including Minister Nguyen Hong Dien and 4 deputy ministers: Mr. Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, Ms. Phan Thi Thang, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long and Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai.

Mr. Truong Thanh Hoai, born in 1972, from Nghe An, has a Master's degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in electrical systems.

He has held the position of Director of the Department of Industry since 2017, when the Ministry of Industry and Trade merged the Department of Heavy Industry and the Department of Light Industry.

Previously, Mr. Hoai held the position of Head of the Heavy Industry Department since 2014.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 476 to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, to hold the position of Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
