This morning (October 3), Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) held a conference of key staff, announced and handed over resolutions on the board of directors. Here, Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung was assigned to be in charge of operating Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (replacing his predecessor, Professor, Dr. Su Dinh Thanh, who resigned as Director of UEH due to the end of his term).

Previously, on September 22, 2025, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Education and Training approved the policy of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics to carry out the process of reappointing two vice directors. On that basis, the University Council of UEH implemented the steps according to the process and issued a Resolution to reappoint two vice directors: Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung and Dr. Dinh Cong Khai; at the same time, assigned the authority to be in charge of operations to Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Quang Hung, born in 1978, is currently the Deputy Director of UEH and Director of Vinh Long Branch. He graduated from UEH in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in accounting and auditing, then received a master's degree from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Thailand) and a master's degree in finance from the European School of Management ESCP-EAP (France) in 2004. In 2019, he defended his doctoral thesis in accounting at UEH and was appointed Associate Professor in 2023.

During nearly 25 years working at UEH, Mr. Hung held many positions: lecturer, Head of Finance-Accounting Department, Chief Accountant, Head of Human Resources Department, Deputy Director of the Institute of Innovation, Deputy Director/Director of Vinh Long Branch. Since 2020, he was appointed Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, then transferred to Vice Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics in 2023. He has been directly in charge of many areas in university administration such as: finance, facilities, training, student care, communication and partner development, comprehensive digital transformation of the university...

Currently, the leadership of the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City consists of 3 people. In which, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao is Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Quang Hung is Deputy Director in charge and Dr. Dinh Cong Khai is Deputy Director.

Previously, in August, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics decided to establish the University Council for the 2025-2030 term, consisting of 27 members, with Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao as Chairman of the Council (replacing Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, who is now a member representing lecturers of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics Council for the new term).
