Paris Saint-Germain have their first title in 2024, winning the French Super Cup for the 12th time

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) had a favorable start to 2024 when they beat Toulouse 2-0 in the French Super Cup match that took place in the early morning of January 4 (Vietnam time).

After only 3 minutes of play, PSG opened the scoring thanks to a goal by Korean striker Lee Kang In. From a long pass, Dembele changed the direction of attack to the right wing, and Lee Kang In was there in time to finish and beat goalkeeper Restes.

In the 11th minute, Donnum tried his luck with a very strong shot from a distance of nearly 40 meters but the ball missed PSG's post by a hair.

In the 31st minute, Barcola coordinated well with Lee Kang In before firing a shot into the near corner, but goalkeeper Restes excellently flew to block it.

In the 37th minute, Toulouse could have equalized if they had been luckier. Striker Dallinga shot from a distance but was blocked by a PSG defender, but he continued to make a smart run to receive the ball from Donnum and quickly finished.

However, goalkeeper Donnarumma still managed to use his hand to block the ball from hitting the post and going out.

In their search for an equalizer, Toulouse paid the price when they conceded a second goal in the 44th minute. Kylian Mbappe dribbled past three Toulouse defenders and shot, the ball going into the net of goalkeeper Restes.

The two-goal lead helped PSG control the game well in the second half. Coach Luis Enrique's team proactively played tight defense and waited for counter-attack opportunities.

However, no more goals were scored and PSG ended the match with a 2-0 victory, thereby setting a record of winning the French Super Cup for the 12th time at the beginning of the new year 2024.
