Vietnam Fatherland Front delegation visited and gave gifts to people of Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces

Faced with the heavy damage caused by storm No. 10 and its circulation in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen provinces, on October 11, a working delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front led by Ms. Ha Thi Nga, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, visited and presented gifts to support the people of the two provinces.

On the afternoon of October 11, the working group visited and presented gifts to people in Kep commune, Bac Ninh province. The whole commune has 432 households with more than 1,200 people who had to evacuate on the spot and more than 70 households with more than 200 people had to move people and property elsewhere. 134 hectares of rice and dozens of hectares of crops and aquatic products were flooded. The locality is focusing on recovering from the consequences of the flood and soon stabilizing people's lives.

Visiting households affected by floods, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Ha Thi Nga kindly asked about the living conditions and health of the people, shared the difficulties that local people are having to overcome; at the same time acknowledged the efforts of the government and functional forces in urgently supporting and helping people overcome the consequences of natural disasters.

In order to provide timely support to families affected by floods, the Working Group presented many gifts to households. The gifts demonstrate the spirit of mutual love and support, and are a source of spiritual and material encouragement to help people confidently overcome difficulties and soon stabilize their lives.

Visiting and presenting gifts to support people and support forces in Gia Sang ward, comrade Ha Thi Nga shared the difficulties that the Party Committee, government and people of Thai Nguyen province are experiencing and highly appreciated the proactive spirit, efforts and efforts of the province in approaching trapped people to minimize human losses. She expressed her thanks to the armed forces for supporting Thai Nguyen province to overcome the consequences caused by floods and soon stabilize people's lives.

Comrade Ha Thi Nga said that the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has issued an appeal to support people in provinces suffering damage caused by floods.

Responding to the call, in recent days, many agencies, organizations, businesses and philanthropists have joined hands to support people in provinces heavily affected by storms and floods. Up to this point, the amount of money registered to support through the account of the Central Relief Mobilization Committee has reached nearly 900 billion VND.

Conveying the regards of the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien to the people of Thai Nguyen province, comrade Ha Thi Nga said that the Central Relief Mobilization Committee will summarize the difficulties of the province, from which it will make recommendations to the authorities to continue supporting the province to overcome difficulties, so that people have more conditions to stabilize their lives.

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province Dinh Quang Tuyen said that due to the impact of storm No. 10 and the circulation of storm No. 11, 65/92 communes and wards in the area were affected, of which more than 40 localities suffered heavy damage.

“The total damage is estimated at over VND4,000 billion, and the locality currently needs about VND650 billion for urgent repairs and to help people stabilize their lives soon. Up to now, through the relief receiving account, the province has received over VND100 billion from organizations and individuals inside and outside the province. In addition to financial support, many volunteer groups have directly gone to the affected areas to help people overcome the consequences of storms and floods,” said Mr. Dinh Quang Tuyen.

By 8am on October 11, in residential groups, the water had receded, and people were focusing on overcoming the consequences of the floods.
