Specifically, the fanpage Drug Prevention and Control - Ho Chi Minh City Police has a blue tick confirming that the owner "named" popular songs containing toxic content, promoting the illegal use of banned substances and drugs, including the song Trinh with the line " Or should I stop making love songs and switch to making Mai Thuy music to play for those narcotics addicts? ".

Due to the wave of controversy on social media, the management company worked with rapper HIEUTHUHAI and made an official statement about the incident.

Accordingly, HIEUTHUHAI composed, performed and released the song Trinh in September 2024 in the context of being criticized by the audience for being "lacking in substance and sentimental" as well as compared to other rap songs.

The sentence "Or should I stop making love songs and switch to making mai thuy songs to play for those young boys?" is meant to satirize the idea that rap music must be edgy and vulgar.

The management company affirms that HIEUTHUHAI has no intention of promoting social evils or calling for illegal acts.

The rap song Trinh sends out a positive message about the efforts, endeavors, and spirit of family and community of a young artist. The male rapper has also performed this song on many large and small stages.

"As a young artist, HIEUTHUHAI is always aware of his social responsibility, complies with legal regulations and the Code of Conduct for people working in the arts field of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and strives to spread good values to the community," the document quoted.

HIEUTHUHAI and the company are also willing to cooperate with the authorities to review, exchange and clarify information related to the song.
