Vietnamese-Korean film “Mang me di bo” joins the group of “hundred billion” movies at the Vietnamese box office

Officially premiering on August 1, the movie “Mang Me Di Bo” quickly reached the 100 billion VND mark after only 6 days with more than 1.2 million tickets sold (including early screenings), becoming one of the Vietnamese movies with the best opening performance since the beginning of the year.

Not only creating a buzz domestically, “Mang me di bo” also attracted attention from international media when major Korean television stations such as SBS, MBC, KBS... simultaneously reported on it, showing special interest in this Vietnamese-Korean collaboration.

Notably, the direct participation of “Vietnamese son-in-law” Jung Il-woo during the promotion process has significantly contributed to increasing the recognition of “Mang me di bo”. Sharing in the exchanges with the audience, Jung Il-woo said that he cried 5 times while watching the film because he sympathized with the story.

Touched by the enthusiastic support from Vietnamese audiences, Jung Il-woo also excitedly "promised" to return to Vietnam to hold a fan meeting if the film reaches 5 million ticket sales. He is also willing to participate in Running Man Vietnam if invited and will even post the song "Stone Tears" that he sings in Vietnamese on his personal YouTube channel.

The two main actors Tuan Tran and Hong Dao could not hide their emotion and gratitude when witnessing audiences of all ages present in large numbers at the theaters.

Besides the Vietnamese and Korean actors participating in the film that were promoted in advance, the film surprised the audience with the appearance of Go Kyung-pyo - the male "star" of "Suddenly Won the Lottery" and "Reply 1988" with a memorable "cameo" role.

In the movie “Mang me di a”, Go Kyung-pyo plays Ji-hwan - the eldest son of the main character Le Thi Hanh. Due to past events, Ji-hwan was forced to leave his mother since he was young. Despite being separated by distance and time, Ji-hwan always turns to his mother, carrying within him the longing and desire to see her again.

Go Kyung-pyo also showed off his adorable Vietnamese speaking skills when he said the movie's title in Vietnamese and sent the message: "Take me away - put it in my heart" - true to the spirit of the character he plays.

Sharing about inviting Go Kyung-pyo to participate in a guest role in the movie “Mang me di bo”, producer Kim Dae-kuen revealed that when starting the preparation process for the project, the crew asked themselves the question: “Who is the Korean film actor most known to Vietnamese audiences recently?”. The name mentioned most often is Go Kyung-pyo.

On the occasion of the film reaching the 100 billion VND mark in revenue, the producer released a series of new posters. The highlight is the emotional "meeting" moment between Hoan (Tuan Tran) and Ji-hwan (Go Kyung-pyo) at the end of the film. The poster attracts attention with the line: "In your family, at least one person must be happy" - as an affirmation of Hoan's silent but profound sacrifice when witnessing his brother's happiness with his small family.
