Sharing and reaching out to people affected by storms and floods

On the afternoon of October 13, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - City Relief Mobilization Committee organized to receive 30 businesses, organizations and individuals registering to donate more than 6 billion VND, including goods worth 544 million VND to support people to overcome damage caused by natural disasters.

Received 81 billion VND in support to overcome the consequences of storms and floods

On the afternoon of October 13, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City - City Relief Mobilization Committee organized to receive 30 businesses, organizations and individuals registering to donate more than 6 billion VND, including goods worth 544 million VND to support people to overcome damage caused by natural disasters.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City shared that from August 1 to this afternoon (October 13), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City - City Relief Mobilization Committee received more than 81 billion VND from more than 9,770 donations.

According to Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, in recent days, people in the Northern and North Central regions have suffered heavy losses caused by natural disasters and are in dire need of resources and cooperation to overcome them.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City calls on people, agencies, organizations and businesses in the area to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, humanity, providing spiritual and material support, contributing to supporting people to overcome damage caused by storms and floods.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City would like to express its sincere thanks for the timely support of the units, organizations, agencies, businesses and individuals of the City, and pledges to continue to coordinate with the Relief Mobilization Committees of the affected provinces to use the support resources in the most practical and effective way.

Ho Chi Minh City has spent more than VND67.2 billion in support for disaster recovery, including support for people affected by floods in Nghe An (VND15 billion), Dong Thap (VND1 billion), Dien Bien (VND2.5 billion), Son La (VND2.5 billion), Ha Tinh (VND15 billion), Quang Tri (VND5 billion), Ninh Binh (VND2 billion), Thanh Hoa (VND2 billion), Hung Yen (VND2 billion), Thai Nguyen (VND10 billion), Bac Ninh (VND5 billion), Cao Bang (VND3 billion) and Lang Son (VND2 billion).

On the same afternoon, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province received 10 billion VND from the Dong Nai Union of General Agricultural Service Cooperatives to support people affected by storms and floods.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province highly appreciated the noble gesture of the Dong Nai General Agricultural Service Cooperative Union; the support of the enterprise was very timely and practical; demonstrating the enterprise's solidarity for the community. Dong Nai authorities quickly transferred the above amount of money to localities affected by natural disasters, contributing to sharing difficulties and helping people stabilize their lives soon.

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province, responding to the call of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province has called on all people to support people in provinces and cities to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 10. To date, organizations and individuals in Dong Nai have donated more than 15 billion VND. Currently, many organizations are continuing to launch donation movements, the amount of donations increases every day.

In order to share the difficulties with localities affected by storm No. 10, in recent days, during the organization of the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at the commune level, localities in Dong Nai have cut back on sideline activities to save costs; at the same time, organized a campaign to join hands to support people affected by natural disasters right at the congress.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai province will publicly and transparently disclose the donation amount and quickly transfer the money to localities affected by storm No. 10.
