In the past, Mourinho has repeatedly called himself "The Special One" or "The Only One". This has made the Portuguese coach hated by many people. At the same time, he has difficulty settling down in a team for a long time despite his abundant talent. The proof is that in 26 years as a coach, Mourinho has never led a team for more than 4 years.
Most recently at Fenerbahce, after only one season he left a lot of scandals because of arguments with referees and opponents. In addition to that were bad comments aimed at Turkish football. As a result, Mourinho was fired after only 14 months leading Fenerbahce Club.
Because of this, many people wondered: Is this the end of his career? This doubt is understandable when his last tournament title was a decade ago!
But less than a month later, Mourinho received an invitation to return to Portugal to coach Benfica. This is the team he led when he first started his career. Surprisingly, on the day of his Benfica debut, Mourinho no longer made the bold statements as before. Accordingly, he promised to become better and less selfish.
Coach Mourinho said: "We all change and will change for the better. I become more altruistic and less selfish, I think less about myself and think more about the good things I can do for others, the joy I can bring to others. I am not important, Benfica is important. Benfica fans are important, they are the heart of the club. The players are also very important, and I am here just to serve."
